I've got/want to get a truck so that I don't have to rent one every time I go to the dump to drop off yard waste, palms, or haul more than a shopping cart full of merchandise from Home Depot. I also want to be able to easily haul a kayak around without having to put it on a roof rack. I'm not too concerned about gas mileage as I drive about 400 miles a month. Looks like I'd have to spend 50k+ to get leather which is just insane.

Any suggestions?

Should be a nice car for ya.   ;)
The twin turbo is the ecoboost engine.  It actually has more towing power than the 5.0 L V8.
Probably does...I got the 5.0 L V8 Triton in my Ford pickup.  I got a buddy at work that bought a Ford F150 with the twin turbo V6 and he raves about it's performance.

im skeptical about long that little engine turbo'd up will handle rigorous towing.  I am sure it will be fine for the fishing boats and such, but some of the claims I am hearing made from people about its ability on heavier loads in harsher conditions I have my doubts.

I am sure for what Barr was looking for its actually an excellent choice as he will get decent mileage as well as being able to haul what he wants.

20/26...it's got a lot of zip...

The Fords are beautiful. I buy used nearly always but have leased then bought out on new before. I have noticed Ford & Nissan run some pretty awesome incentives $10-12k off. Chevy & GM will but seems to be less often. I’m currently looking for a older 06-10ish crew cab or Yukon type. I don’t drive much anymore so mainly need something to pull the Pro V and maybe a half ton pullable camper next year. Been driving an 08’ BMW 535Xi which is fun to drive and awesome on gas but it’s served it’s purpose. Wife has 14’ Acura MDX I tow with now. It handles the boat pretty well but a camper isn’t happening! Love the Acura, wife said she’ll never drive anything else. Wish they made larger trucks than the Ridgeline because they make a damn fine ride.

This is pretty much it...the only thing missing is the spray in bedliner...I'm probably going to need a half a day to set up the remote start LOL...

As usual.. I am late to the party on a thread..    Anyway, I skipped a few posts.. But I bought a 2017 F150 last September. My first ever brand new vehicle.. I freaking love it. Just the XLT, Not the Lariat.. but either way.. you can't go wrong IMHO.. I test drove a V8, and then the 3.5L V6.. oh man.. Night and day.

I have had it just about a year now, and I drove to Iowa last weekend... Averaged 23 mpg .. You don't buy a truck for gas mileage.. but that's a nice little bonus.
The extra room in the back seat is HUGE as I often have grown passengers...

And the get-up-and-go in that thing is sick..

I went with the 5.5' box.. Anything bigger wouldn't have fit in my garage lol..

Go with the Ford Barr.. (if you haven't already)

Sweet ride Barr! I looked at those Opus popup trailers too, leave it to German engineering! Would make a really nice set w/ your new truck.

Is that 23 mpg running it in Eco mode? I'm getting 21 so far.

I have an 08 with all the bells and whistles too. Bought it in 13 with 29K miles on it. Paid 21K. KBB had it worth 33K. I drive it everywhere. Now has 94K miles on it. A few scratches and small dents from the woods when we go camping, hunting or quad riding.  Get it. You will not be sorry!!!

Barr. Did you get 4 X 4?  Do you even need it in FLA??  That would have saved you a ton of $$$
