Start with the #10 D which added a stud LB in the draft
Young stud RB
Multi-tool player in Cohen
A QB who could be this year's version of Goff
Talent infusion at WR
And an offensive minded HC who will bring KCs versatile offense
I think they finish second to our Vikings

I was right there with you until that last sentence...

North will be interesting this year with Rogers back and some new coaching there, Patricia in Detroit and everything you mentioned about the arrow pointing-up in Chicago.

Never an easy out in Divisional play.

Even the bad news Bears were a tough out for us in Soldier Field. I don't expect this new group to be any different. Won't go as far as saying they'll leapfrog Detroit and Green Bay. Who knows maybe. With the right set of catastrophes they could be #1 in the North.

The early talk of Matty Patty already losing the team plus the track record of Bellichek coordinators is working against the Lions...

The packers have two new coordinators, are counting on rookies to shore up their secondary, booted rodgers favorite WR, and are one injury away from not being able to field a legit NFL franchise...

You shouldn't sleep on or feed a Bear.  Maulings every year when idiots want close-ups.

Back to football.

From what I saw from Trubisky I was not impressed at all.  They are in building mode and are starting to put some pieces together under a brand new coach.  I expect a lot of hiccups and don't see them as a threat for the division.  Of course we usually have very close games even when they suck so I expect that again this year.

Yes, change is never easy.  Especially with a young QB.

Lots of changes in the NFCN this year.  Every team has at least one new coordinator.

I like the Bears, too. I really like Trubisky and have said as much a bit ago. But they aren't going to finish 2nd in the NFCN. I think its an annual event in here to put a shovel or two of dirt on the Packer's grave....not sure why as that hasn't been their history with Rodgers.

If Kevin White ever shows up they'll be dangerous. I'm not yet convinced Trubisky is all that though. So many teams make the mistake of thinking QBs are ready for a full plate in their 2nd seasons and so many take a step back as a result. Goff and Wentz are recent exceptions, so maybe that is changing. Bears are also very weak on the edges on both sides of the ball.

All the north teams got a little better, but there isn't a team in the division who is built like the Vikings are. If the good guys can keep injuries to a minimum, they really should mop it up.

Not sure Goff qualifies as an exception.  He had an aging plodder of a defensive coach his rookie year and sat most of it.  So that is more of a redshirt year.  last year was like a rookie+ season.  I think he takes his step back this year.

I think it's going to be a more competitive division this year, but I still think it's going to be Vikes, Packers, Lions, Bears.  I don't trust Trubisky yet, and the Packers are always good for 9+ wins with Rodgers.  I doubt their rookie CBs are going to make a huge difference in year 1.

Breaking down new-look Bears: Mitchell Trubisky has what he needs to break outIn some ways, the 2018 Bears are a very different team than the one that ended the 2017 season. In other ways, they are building on more of the same.
Head coach John Fox was fired, and offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains was not retained. Those two were replaced by offensive-minded Matt Nagy and former Oregon coach Mark Helfrich, respectively.
Those were the first steps for Chicago in trying to get a breakout second year out of quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Then, along with the philosophical and schematic reboot, came upgraded offensive skill personnel through free agency and the draft.
Defensively, however, with the Bears trending in the right direction in their base 3-4, Vic Fangio was retained to oversee a talented, mostly young unit that continues to grow. But the defense also got a key addition who can help take it to another level.
Here are the most notable changes that blew threw Chicago in the offseason as it tries to become a force in the NFC North.

I agree with you. I liked the moves they made. It all comes down to Trubisky taking that jump up in play. They were too damn scared to allow him to throw the ball beyond 10 yards.

In Trubisky's 12 starts he was very similar in stats to Semian's 11 starts.  59% completion at the bottom of starting QB's, about 6.5 per attempt towards the bottom, 7 Int's and 7 TD's and 5 fumbles and a QBR towards the bottom 2 of starters as well.

I watched a good chunk of his games and I really don't see the hype or expectations of a huge jump for him heading into his sophomore year which can be very hard on QB's especially in a new system.

I saw a guy throw a ton into coverage and committing to first read and inaccurate which the 59% completion percentage indicates.  That is with a ton designed quick throws within 5 yards of LOS.

I am just not seeing the reasons for anything other then hoping for some improvement in his very subpar rookie numbers.
