its sad what has happened to the glades.  I used to do school projects on the everglades when I was young and they are nothing anymore but a damn snake pit.

Here's a personal sighting. Not dangerous but blew my mind.
I was canoeing on a river in central Florida. Seen a school of catfish in the shallow water. Looked again it was them Plecostomus. You know them algae eaters that always out grow everyone's fish tanks. I must have seen a dozen schools of them up and down that river. They didn't swim here from South America. Think before you throw something in the water people. I've also caught an Asian walking catfish in my back yard pond. They move around at night and are lungfish. Breaths air. I threw it in an aquarium. It got out of it. I then killed it.

yep,  so much of the problems we have in nature are man made.  weeds that plague farmers fields were brought in as flowers, lawn decor, or bird food from other places,  insects that are now nuisances or worse were brought for other reasons... the list goes on.  if mother nature thought it needed to be some place,  she would have put it there and provided for its control.   (kind of like people living in deserts in the US..((Jimmy ducks))  :)

It's true. Sometimes they believe if they bring in another non native to control the one that's gotten out of control that will fix it. They find a different food source once introduced. So now you got two problems.

Exotic pets should be neutered if possible or banned outright.

Some people would say that even some non exotic pets should be banned outright.

I got a new neighbor recently..and they think because they live in the country they don't need to keep their pit bull on their property...this will likely get Interesting.  Another newby to the country have 2 young dogs that are also left free to roam.  It's to bad the animals will have to suffer for the stupidity and laziness of their owners.
