OT: Manziel is an idiot
He doesn't get the benefit of the doubt anymore. I only say this because I know what I used to think I could get away with in my early 20s and I had no clue how everybody could consistently see through my bullshit.
Manziel: "My first-ever visit whenever we were going through the draft was in New England. I have no idea what's about to happen. I fly to Boston, go to Patriot Place, check in to the hotel, call (my agent, Erik Burkhardt) and I'm like, 'All right, man, what should I be doing? I'm here at, like, 4 or 5 o'clock.' He's like, 'Just kick back, have some dinner, stay in your room. You never know. It's the Patriots. You never really know what's going to go on. Pretty much don't do anything that I wouldn't do, for the most part.' … "So I'm like, you know what, I'm going to walk over here to this grocery store. I'm going to get some food. I'm going to get a nice bottle of wine. I'm just going to sit here and watch a movie, and I'm going to hang out. I get back to the room, I go to open the bottle of wine, and I don't have a bottle opener. So I'm like, you know what, EB told me not to do anything that he wouldn't do." Burkhardt: "First of all, why are you opening a bottle of wine? … Look, I'm the old father of two. I'm the old head here. I love a great bottle of red wine at the end of every night. But he's visiting the freaking New England Patriots. They're paying for the room. They're paying for dinner. The $69 bottle of wine — nothing wrong with the wine, but that's an argument in and of itself." Manziel: "Just going to have a steak, have a bottle of wine, watch a movie. Just a really relaxing night. Really relaxing night. No bottle opener, so I'm like, you know what, I'm going to have to do this old school." Burkhardt: "It always starts with no bottle opener. How about you call room service and be like, 'Bring me a bottle opener'?" Manziel: "And then Bill Belichick is on the other end of the phone like, 'Oh, really, Mr. Manziel? You want a bottle opener? We'll see you later. Go back home.' That was my thought process — (that) there were cameras in the room everywhere, that anything I called and asked for would be directly relayed to the Patriots for the most part, because I figured that's how they would be. So I'm like, I'm going to go ahead and just push the cork into the bottle and just thug it out. The second I did that, it sprayed like a bottle of champagne all over the room. The walls, the white bed. There was half a bottle of red wine dripping from the ceiling. … Everywhere — all over the walls, all over the room, dripping, everything. I remember calling EB and being like, 'You think the Patriots are going to get the report of what standing this room is in after the time I check out of here, because it's going to take me at least a day and a half to clean this (expletive) off the walls, off the ceiling, new bedsheets, everything." Burkhardt: "The story gets better. Then what happened that night?" Manziel: "Well, after that failed attempt to try and be on the good side of my visits, I get a FaceTime from Gronk. And as I answer, he's like, 'You're here for your visit. I just saw on Twitter.' He's like, 'I'm outside your hotel.' And I'm like, 'Well, that was quick.' He's like, 'Yeah, I just got out of practice. You want to hang out?' That escalated probably a little bit more than just having a bottle of wine in the hotel room. But for as big as he is, that guy can actually play some Ping-Pong. I was really surprised. And maybe drank a couple beers."https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/johnny-manziel-ruined-hotel-with-wine-drank-with-gronk-during-draft-visit-with-patriots/
LOL... some people just can't get out of their own way. I thought he would try to bust the end off the bottle, but what he did is even funnier.
You know it almost not fun to bash him any more king. He has pissed his life away like a cheap beer. Hard to see any NFL team willing to believe him anymore. He has made about as many bad choices as a kid can make. I made some too when I was young. I didn't have the luxury of money a rich family and a family name that enabled me to continue with making bad decisions. My old man was quick to tell me. You made this mess how you gonna clean it up. Johnny F***up had everyone covering for him. Till he blew it. Now he's gonna have to figure out how to clean up his life.
UMMMMM isnt that article from 2014??? I believe he has got himself straightened out

A lot of young men make incredibly stupid decisions without receiving a cash windfall that exceeds what most of his peers won't earn in thirty years, so...I can't feel sorry for him.

Like if he had a tough upbringing that he fought through (son of oil millionaire), or if he were a nice guy who saved dolphins or something (even his charity work seems obligatory), or had an ounce of humility or accountability (still blames Browns for his failure), then I'd consider it. But he's the dickeshest douche the NFL has ever seen. I mean, Jeff George and Jay Cutler had slug-worthy faces, but even they didn't rise to Johnny Bravo's level.

It seems like I've been misunderstood. I don't feel sorry for him. I really don't feel much for him truthfully. I just believe his money and his name enabled him. He blew it on his own. I doubt he would have ever been much of a NFL QB even if he actually tried. Which he didn't. The Manning boys had money and a bigger name. They did ok. He used his fame for all the wrong things in life. Now that's forever what he'll be famous for. Johnny 8ball. The guy who partied himself out of the league.
This is from back in 2014? Seems like a pretty long time ago.
His troubles are well documented. Yes, they are of his own making. He also now has disclosed he has been diagnosed as bipolar. I'm not saying that gives him a free pass. But I'll go with suncoastvike on this one .... maybe it shouldn't be fun to continue to rip on Manziel. He has gotten help and is still trying to make it in professional football - not an easy thing to do. I hope he keeps on the better path and I wish him luck. But to each his own.

Yeah, really? I know we're polar opposites but I don't even remember if there was a running feud.I posted a current article that referenced something from years ago and because I just proofread the first part I thought it'd just happened. I wasn't trying to be funny at all.

My bad. I apologize to you KB. I thought you were trying to make fun of me. It is tough to take written words emotionally most times. I was wrong! Cheers KB
