Wieneke, a native of Maple Grove, Minnesota, said this week that he is ecstatic about the opportunity to play for the Vikings. “It’s the best feeling in the world,’’ said Wieneke (via Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press). “I get to stay with the team I grew up loving and I get to stay in Minnesota. It can’t be anything better than this.’’ Hill may be the most intriguing prospect of the bunch. The cornerback was suspended by Texas for the last month of the season for reasons that are still unknown. In terms of talent, he was regarded as a draftable player. Meanwhile, running backs Thomas and Boone and fullback/running back Pettway have a reach chance at making the roster after the Vikings declined to select a running back over the weekend. After the departure of Jerick McKinnon, there are no other running backs to support Dalvin Cook and Latavius Murray.

Armanti is D'Onta's twin brother. Not a lot of info out there on Armanti...tracks the ball well.

Don't we still have Mack Brown and CJ Ham?  Either way, I like Pettway and Thomas so ...

I don't see anything to confirm either way.  NFL.com just has him on the list with the rest of these guys and his ESPN stats page shows him with the Vikings.

Holton Hill and Roc Thomas are the prizes in this group. Mata'afa is the most interesting, but 254 at DT? I think he could make the roster because he will probably be a great ST player.

Why ever draft a guy like DJ Chark early when Jeff Badet runs a sub 4.3 and can be had as a Free Agent?

Some of these WRs are intriguing;  Korey Robertson, Armanti Foreman, Jake Wieneke, along with TEs Tyler Conklin and Tyler Hoppes.

All of them have good tape.

Competition at Receiver is gonna be intense.

Foreman is a damn good WR but he never got to show it because the HC at Texas didn't let him show it. The reason why?  Simply put. The coach just said he didn't like him. No reason why but that. It sucks to have a coach like that. Some of these guys do though.

Foreman reminds me physically of a smaller Patterson.  He's got a terrific foundation, and some nice explosion and bounce like you see in top athletes.  He catches a bit like Patterson too (good and bad), and he 'flashes' body control, and good awareness.  I think he's a PS guy all day, and I really like his upside.   Some of the other receivers are pretty solid as well.   Not sure why he was so little-used in Austin.

He was used so little because the coach didn't like him. It's that simple. No reason why he just didn't like him.  Believe it or not this happens. Hell, he doesn't even know why he didn't like him. He is much better than he showed at Texas.  He just didn't get to show it when the new coach got there. He has the same agent as Brian.

Seems like Badet has a rep for not staying on the field.  But you can't coach speed and he surely fights for the ball.

Yeah, well he's a nifty player.  I was jazzed when I saw what little tape is out there on him.  Couldn't believe I had never even heard of him, or that nobody was talking about him.  Now I get it.  I like his chances to stick around, though!

Any thoughts about  Holton Hill from the  UT program?

I don't know anything about Hill except what i was told by someone who worked at the HS he attended. It wasn't good news but some people view others w/o knowing them. I'll just say the only thing i know has nothjng to do with his play on the field.
