Vikings Mock Draft: Trader Rick at it again

Ok I don't know most those guys and I'm pretty sure you just made up that last school.  :)

That's a killer draft.  I think the closest one yet.  Doubting the Rams would trade off 3 4th rounders, but we can dream!

Right away, Turay gives us a player we can add do our pass rush rotation and also hedge against the possibility of losing Barr. In terms of metrics, there isn't a better tackle in this class. Great size, 4.9 forty, 34+ arms. Great feet, good in space. Better pass blocker than run blocker. I was surprised that the math actually worked for that. At least according to the trade chart, but that's all we have to go by. No, unlikely they would, but they don't have any picks in the first 2 rounds. I could see them packaging a few to move up for a player they really covet. They seem to be in a "do what it takes" mode.

Natrell Jamerson is an interesting guy.  Could be a major steal on Day 3.  Even if he doesn't develop into a starter, he was a special teams demon in college...  but he has some nice upside in my opinion.  Really like that pick in your mock, Maroon.

Heard on the radio this morning that a lot of NFL personnel people view this draft as OK in the first round, but really strong in rounds 2 and 3. Something like 50 players graded as 2nd rounders and a similar amount as 3rd rounders. So we could see a lot of trading down, or at least attempts to do so...

Another reason why the Vikings' pick at 30 would be appealing and valuable to other teams who might be targeting Mason Rudolph is the 5th year team option that comes with a first round pick. To keep a high performing player under contract at a team friendly 5th year option can't be overlooked.
