Wright, 28, is one of the better players left in free agency. He visited Kansas City last week.

From NFL.com
Wright spent last season in Chicago, where he hauled in a team-leading 59 receptions for 614 yards and one score. The former first-rounder played himself out of a job in Tennessee, but gives Minnesota -- and new quarterback Kirk Cousins -- an affordable pass-catcher who can operate out of the slot.
Hunting for depth after losing Jarius Wright to the Panthers, the Vikings spread an impressively wide net to unearth a player with the identical surname. Minnesota currently boasts one of the league's top duos in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs, while hoping for a big third season from 2016 first-rounder Laquon Treadwell.
Wright put together a promising second season with the Titans in 2013, topping 1,000 yards and looking like a future star. He's never come close since, however, looming as nothing more than a fallback option for those of you enthused by the concept of fantasy football.
So they eat 2 million to cut 5-10 174 slot WR J Wright and sign 5-10 174 slot WR K Wright. What was the point of these moves?
Does K Wright return kicks or something J Wright didn't? They are like clones of each other even only 13 days difference in age and their combine numbers are nearly identical. Obviously there are differences in playing style but what are they and how significant are the differences?

Kendall hasn't been in Zimmer's doghouse and so might actually get on the field? :o
Although measurement clones, Kendall has 4 50+ catch seasons (59 last year). Jarius' career high is 42 (in 2014).

Wright had the advantage of starter snaps if not outright first read.I guess it doesn't mater much he'll be lucky to be a third read unless they feel he can be a weapon from the slot and allow Riggs and AT to stay on the perimeter.
Arent Thielens best numbers in the slot. Couldnt Wright end up outside a bit?
@"Riphawkins" said: All would be Wright with the world!Wonder if he’d just wear 17 so they didnt have to issue a new jersey?
Ding ding ding, we have a winner! ;) B)
Wright will wear No. 17, in a move likely to please fans that own former Vikings receiver Jarius Wright’s jersey of the same number. The 20th overall pick in the 2012 draft will play on his second straight one-year contract, after spending the first five seasons of his career on his rookie deal with the Titans.
He’s hoping his time with the Vikings will translate to another deal that keeps him with the team — and with Cousins — beyond 2018.
“They like me, and I like being there,” Wright said. “The culture and the coaching staff that you’re going to get here, I’ve never really had that. Maybe while I’m playing, the one-year deal can turn into something bigger.”
