The best thing? He's a work in progress who has the potential to be the Vikings' solution at quarterback for a long time. Those areas in which he has struggled -- particularly inside the 20 -- are among DeFilippo's bread and butter. The new coordinator brings with him success rooted in Carson Wentz's 116.3 passer rating inside the red zone with zero turnovers. Simply put, with the issues that have popped up, Cousins is in the best possible hands.

Really puts things into perspective with what he's done well and where he has to improve.  No better spot for him to reach his potential.  Maybe he's the next Brees?

Every negative listed about him seems fixable, especially with the Guru coming in...

I wasn’t aware of his fumble total, which seems troublesome but upon further review, not all that alarming and in fact, misleading as he had 5 lost fumbles
1 more than Brady & 2 less than Stafford, who led the league...

Yeah, I heard the same thing from some of my Packer friends...  They were saying that Cousins is still only the 3rd best QB in the division.  Well, even if you put Stafford ahead of him, the Lions haven't won the division since 1993.  In the last 10 years, the Packers have won the division 5 times, Vikings 4 times, and the Bears won it in 2010.  Let's face the facts...  it will be either the Packers or Vikings who win the division this year.

So long as Rodgers is playing like Rodgers and the Vikings are without a proven QB, all the sports personalities will consider the Packers the favorites in the NFC North and a contender to reach the SB.  That's not unreasonable.
With Cousins, and assuming he plays like we all expect him to play, the Vikings become a viable option. They may still give the edge to the Packers (with a healthy Rodgers). But with a legit franchise QB they have to concede that the Vikings have, at a minimum, narrowed the gap.

With Cousins' signing though, from a financial standpoint, where does that leave us? That's a lot of money, and if we lose more than one of our main FAs on defense over the next couple years because we have too much tied up in him, this is a loss overall for us. This defense needs to (somehow) improve from last year. We need upgrades, not a potential upgrade at QB while suffering casualties on our lines/ D-backfield.
