Anything happens to him, knee injury / back / shoulder we are screwed. Dumbest thing ever to guarantee the entire contract. And then there is the possibility that he sucks / is just average at best. We will be trapped in a brutal financial situation. He brings ZERO guarantees of excellent performance or health. You can say he has not been injured, but you could also say he is due to be injured. This has a huge possibililty of being the worst contract ever for the Vikings. I have a bad feeling about this guarantee.Courtney Cronin Retweeted Adam Schefter And there it is. Exactly for the reason(s) you just posted. The Vikings just got a rare good season out of a QB (who wasn't at the end of his career), and could have signed him for a pretty team-friendly deal, but instead they just kicked him to the curb and went all in on a fully guaranteed 3 year deal for the newer, shinier QB. I don't know how a Vikings fan can feel fully confident in this deal; the Vikings don't exactly have a stellar record in the QB department.
I'm playing a little bit of a devil's advocate here, and I'm slowly coming around to Cousins, but I've also been snake-bitten by this franchise and their "all-in" moves a few too many times to just assume this is the one that is going to finally work out as planned.
BTW I don't know whether to laugh, cry or vomit after reading your post. Maybe all three LOL.

We needed better than last year, not worse.@"Skodin" said: Kramer no Wilson no Gannon Well how about Salisbury? McMahon has something in the tank Wow, we can get Warren Moon? I think we will be pretty happy with the job he will do and the stability at the position.
I have to admit to some relief that it worked out.
with all the other QBs and teams falling into place, this is pretty much a given now. If it wasn't before.

Both funny and painful. Nicely done!

Speaking of Bouman, what will Cousin's signing do to Todd's jersey sales? ;)

from your link:
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that not one, but two teams apparently offered Cousins more money to sign with them, but that he has apparently decided to go with the purple instead.
According to Rapoport, both the Arizona Cardinals and the New York Jets offered more money that the Vikings did. There weren’t any specifications about the length of the deals or the amount of guarantees that either of those two teams offered, just that they offered Cousins more than the Vikings did.
If this is true and Cousins did, in fact, take less money to come to Minnesota, then it sort of crystallizes his priorities. With all due respect to the Jets and the Cardinals, they aren’t on the same level competitively that the Vikings are right now. . .after all, the Vikings did make it to the NFC Championship Game last season and bring back just about everybody from that squad. If Cousins is serious about wanting to win, and it appears that he is, then Minnesota has been a no-brainer as a destination for him all along.
I like that... ! B) B) B)

Oh no!! I never considered that. Well, Todd can probably still beat him in a dunk contest... or ganja consumption.
come'on you guys. When Bradford is announced to go to AZ, Keenum to Denver, and Teddy to the Jets ("Teddy and the Jets"...there I SAID IT), before any announcement of Cousins to Minnesota...you know it's a done deal. This ain't Cleveland.
Vikings fans are always paranoid and always Chicken Little-ing situations, lol. I get it.
