According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, free agent Case Keenum can "likely be had" for $16-18 million annually. Keenum is looking at a big raise after leading Minnesota to the NFC title game last season. He's been linked to the Broncos, who could view Keenum as a fallback for Kirk Cousins. Keenum has a connection to Denver senior personnel advisor Gary Kubiak, who helped sign Keenum as an undrafted free agent with Houston in 2012.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe expects free agent Teddy Bridgewater to command $12-15 million annually on a one or two-year "prove-it" deal.
He named the Dolphins and Jaguars as possible suitors. Bridgewater would also be a fallback option for teams who miss on Kirk Cousins. Finally healed from a brutal knee injury that cost him most of the last two seasons, the 25-year-old enters free agency with 28 touchdown passes and an 86.3 career quarterback rating.

Call me crazy, but Keenum at about .60 cents on the dollar to what Cousins will command seems like a good value...

Jacksonville just gave Bortles 3 years $54 million... they're not going to go high $ on a backup.  If Bridgewater or Bradford end up there it will be on the cheap.

And if Case can "only" take us to the NFCC game... but Cousins can take us to the Super Bowl?  What's that worth?

A better OL is going to get us to the Super Bowl. But anything else you can improve helps.

Agreed. And the Vikings were one miracle play away from one and done in the playoffs....and got annihilated in Philly. So lets not act like the Vikings were a juggernaut against the NFC playoff teams in January, they weren't.

Case didn't take us to or prevent us from any game.  Shoot even Brett Favre on a stacked team couldn't get us to a SB.

What if last year was Case's break out year?  Maybe he goes to Denver and lights it up with them.  After all it is the Vikings way to screw the pooch somehow on all this .

Our offensive line last year was the 22nd ranked offensive line. We gave up 154 pressures thought out the season.
In the post-season we gave up 45 pressures in 2 games. Maybe our line wasn't as good as we thought it was...just improved.

Just so you know, I wasn't trying to make that case.  The question was whether or not Cousins was worth more than Keenum; I simply asked the question that- IF Cousins could take us one game further than Keenum did- would THAT be worth the extra money?

Per @TomPelissero, there is not a scenario where Bridgewater would come back to the #Vikings as the presumptive starter.
