My gut says its legit.  I just keep thinking what a great fit it is.  It makes the team better, and allows them to now focus on what to build around him in FA and The Draft.
I will be surprised if it is not announced, at this point.

I don't understand the having all guaranteed money in Escrow?

So after Inking Mike Evans the Bucs ownership had to put $55 Million in Escrow?

It's the Vikings he will either sign with a shit team for big money or sign with the Vikings and suffer some calamitous event before any rewards are reaped.....
Remember the elated feeing if it happens-record yourself a little video diary and reference it when the dagger is driven through your heart...
Back to the irrational exuberance of the offseason free agents and draft.

They only need to escrow the guaranteed portion he doesn't collect at signing.  I find it hard to believe they don't have mechanisms in place to allow for the signing of cousins.

And the cherry on top for me would be to trade for ...

Tyrann Mathieu

No need to trade it's looking like he'll be cut soon...

True.  But if you want him without having to recruit him then you make the trade.

Of course his 4 years and 42.5 mil remaining comes with him.  So there is that to consider.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

I really don't see the Vikings going outside the organization for an offensive leader after a 13-3 season.

Really?  I suppose they can bring back one of the current 3 QBs but if they were going to do that why risk losing them by letting them talk to teams later today?

I do not see the logic in this plan.

If they really truly liked one of the current 3 and wanted them to be the starter next year, wouldn't they have already gotten them signed to an extension?

There is logic to what you are saying, but I think the fact that there wasn't a clear winner at the end of the season throws a monkey wrench into it.

At that point, dollars become a question, and you don't get clarity on that until this week.

I could be wrong, but I haven't heard anything so far but talk about Cousins shopping his price around today, so if I'm wrong about the Vikings going outside the org, I think I was at least right about the news being an attempt to push Cousins' price up.

caplan... can you claify this?? i just want a straight YES or NO. Really getting sick of waiting.

I’m 99% sure... but there is always that last chance thing that can happen. i want a QB, that will lead us for the next 7 years. that I know what I’m getting. that we can build around. now granted, looking back Case played damn fine football, but can he maintain it? Cousins is a top teir QB still going up. ill take it with our D, with Zim, cook, AT & diggs. we are loaded for years to come. easy to draft to, easy to build upon... set and rick can keep us loaded.

get it announced. wheres geoff? help my stress level!!
