Ha! I'm gonna top you by a couple next month. But it's sad when you mention Joe Kapp to anyone these days and they look at you like you've got lobsters growing out of your ears...
Right there with ya -- turned 52 in January. But hell yeah, I think it will happen. Probably when we least expect it -- that is why this season was so intriguing. I'm a lifer -- got a little better perspective these days, but all in.
I will be 53 in November, and I truly believe we will win one within the next 2 seasons, if we dont by then, then maybe not before I die.... But I have to say I am also a Red Sox fan and felt that exact way until 2004 so I will always hold on to hope!

55 ... saw all 4 SB losses, my first game as a young lad left a lasting impression -- sitting with my parents in the den watching us against the Chiefs. Mom and dad started with enthusiasm and optimism and by the end it was pure depression. I can still see an image of that scene in my mind, I never forgot it. Welcome to Viking fandom, young fellow!
Do I believe we'll win it? Well that answer is a bit long... as I've grown older I've mostly lost interest in sports. I was a rabid North Stars fan as a kid and went to many games, now I could care less about pro hockey - Norm Green got me started early on losing interest in the NHL. I was a big NBA fan for many years long before the Wolves, watched thousands of games especially come playoff time. Now I might tune in to the finals for a game or two if it interests me... or not. Baseball, grew up on the Twins, again went to many games at the old Met, remained a fan throughout most of my life. Now I might read about them once in a while but I really don't care.
But the Vikings, ahhh the Vikings and pro football in general. I watch tons of pro football though in the past few years it seems like the saturation with Thursdays and all has caused my interest to wane a bit but I hate to miss a Vikings game for any reason. The only thing that's changed is I don't get emotionally wrought about it like I used to. The losing still stings but I guess I just can't invest in a potential heart attack over it at this point. Most of you probably know what I mean since this is the old farts thread, hah.
As for the question will they ever win it? I guess if I didn't believe I'd have stopped watching. My logical self says it's hopeless, but my emotional involvement with the team and love for the game remains and the flame has not gone out. So I say ... YES!
And here's a scan of an old football card I still own, for all you old farts to enjoy. You remember how you loved this guy? Or maybe you didn't..

I was born the same year this team was established, & I’ll put on my purple shades this spring just like every year! This could be our year! B)
We all could meet at a Denny's and get the senior citizens' discounts on our meals...
i am wondering if at ya'lls advanced age if you will even remember the next day if they do win one...

@"JimmyinSD" said: i am wondering if at ya'lls advanced age if you will even remember the next day if they do win one...Yup. The bummer about getting old is now I'm so damn forgetful.
Second is...er...what was I saying? Oh yeah, I'm so damn forgetful!

Us old bastards unite!! Don't "F" with us old bastards!!! lol
I am 47, I'll be 48 in September. Call me crazy I really don't care but I still believe and I believe it will be in my lifetime. It's coming, the organization is paving the way for it. Coach Zimmer has gotten rid of a lot of the monkeys on the team's back such as winning after the bye, the prime time games and playoffs. Not only getting there but winning. The next one is the NFCCG. Hell to the mother fucking yeah it's happening. No I am not drunk or high but I am serious. The key right now as we all know is the right qb and tweaks on offense and defense. I really think there's a enough input to get to the next level and the front ofice, coaches and team have learned from the experience. Sometimes experience is a bittersweet mother fucker but that's how you learn. And no matter what the haters say, this is my team. Ride or die, that's all there is to it. Skol!
