Berger expected to play in 2018
Hmm. Not sure how I feel about this. I really like what he has done for us, but I am wondering if he's getting to the end of his career.
Supposedly he’s drawing interest from the Giants & possibly the Lions...
Hopefully it's because he has a love for the game and not because he is needing the money. It seems odd for a guy that 2 years ago was talking about retiring and now he is considering extending his career and possibly relocating to do so?

Probably the difference in winning and losing IMO. 2016 was a rough year and I think Berger isn't cut out for center. 2017 was much better in terms of success. And he didn't have anymore concussions.
@"greediron" said:Is there room for him anymore though? they have Elf, Easton and signed the new guy from philly, not to mention the possibility of adding Price... it might be more than we have room for already considering Isisdora was pushing him in camp last year as a rookie.@"JimmyinSD" said: Hopefully it's because he has a love for the game and not because he is needing the money. @"JimmyinSD" said:I have no problems with the Vikings moving on with younger and better players. He was a great swing guy, but just a decent starter IMO. With Easton as the guard/backup center, and possibly Remmers, Isadora, Sirles, we have enough flexible depth on the interior.@"greediron" said:Is there room for him anymore though? they have Elf, Easton and signed the new guy from philly, not to mention the possibility of adding Price... it might be more than we have room for already considering Isisdora was pushing him in camp last year as a rookie.@"JimmyinSD" said: Hopefully it's because he has a love for the game and not because he is needing the money. Probably wants a ring before he retires. I feel the same about him as I do about Newman. I haven't seen much regression yet and the more experienced depth we have in camp the better. Neither will make the 53 if he's crowding out young talent. But they know that. I say hell yeah, bring 'em both to camp and see what happens.

I think there is not, because, I expect the first round pick to end up being Billy Price, who will immediately dislodge Elf to RG, or Price will take over RG himself. That doesn't even take into account Isadora, who looked ready to challenge Berger.@"greediron" said:Is there room for him anymore though? they have Elf, Easton and signed the new guy from philly, not to mention the possibility of adding Price... it might be more than we have room for already considering Isisdora was pushing him in camp last year as a rookie.@"JimmyinSD" said: Hopefully it's because he has a love for the game and not because he is needing the money. that is interesting, while I think Price will be gone before we pick, would you slot him for C or leave our really good C alone and put Price in at an OG? I would tend to think for the sake of continuity to leave Elf at C (although new system and possibly new QB....) and plug price in at what ever G position he seems to fit best.

But I suspect the difference may be greater at guard. I would leave Elf at C and put Price at Guard. ... Of course, we would have to actually draft Price first - just a minor detail.

But I would also think that with so many options at guard, the Vikings won't reach for a guard, it would have to be a serious value pick.@"JimmyinSD" said:@"Ponifan" said:@"JimmyinSD" said:Interesting question.
