It's in-line with his comments earlier:

“And frankly, once you sign the contract, there’s no law saying you can’t re-negotiate,” he said. “If you signed a deal and you end up coming away from two seasons saying, ‘Hey, not only did we not win, but I think the reason is that I’m taking too much,’ then you can always talk about changing that, but I don’t a need to do that on the front end.
“If you can win football games and play well and play at a high level still making a fair number, then why do you need to predetermine that and go down? I think for all those reasons, you want to find your value and then be able to play off of that accordingly.”

Sounds like he wants as much as he can up front and if the team suffers, he'll surely negotiate... ;) 

That would definitely favor the Vikings. Where else can you go and get catapulted by such a supporting cast? Nowhere. But my God, he's already speculated to draw top 5 QB money...

I don't think it smacks of greed as it does confidence--a willingness to bet on himself. That bet becomes a lot easier to make on a good team. It also might suggest he may actually settle for less money and a shorter term from a team who can offer him the biggest catapult.

He HAS TO understand that if he goes to a team that does not have the supporting cast, he could easily flounder in oblivion and end up just another Marc Bulger.

I'm guessing it means he's going after the most money, especially with the speculation that he wants to take a couple visits.  That would mean teams would get desperate, as other QB options start going away, and be willing to drive up the price to the max.

i suspect he will take a shorter deal with a better team for top money,  but if its a shitty team with the best annual money he will be looking for a longer term and more guaranteed.

He wants a shorter deal because he doesn't want to miss out on the new CBA.  This guy's about the money, it's almost time to take a pass.
