NFLDraftScout.com's Dane Brugler tagged Colorado RB Phillip Lindsay as being snubbed from the NFL Scouting Combine. Lindsay (5'7/185) showed out well at the East-West Shrine Game in January, when he rushed for a game-high 51 yards while showing off his impressive speed. No invitation to Indianapolis was forthcoming following that performance, though. Writes Brugler, "While undersized at 185 pounds, Lindsay runs like a 215-pounder with his toughness and determination to maximize each run." The analyst also notes that Lindsay possesses a smooth ability to adjust his speed as necessary in order to elude tacklers. We like his vision, too. Lindsay will be trying for a Day 3 selection come the spring.

Sounds like a Jet replacement. I have the Shrine Game recorded. I'll have to watch it this weekend.

The back I really like right now is Rashaad Penny if we can get him in the 3rd round or so. Not sure about his pass blocking, but in terms of size, power and receiving skills, he can be a replacement for Jet and eventually Murray.

I think Murray will be a cap casualty and we end up with a Blount type at the fraction of the cost (I cant take credit for this take, it was an idea from someone I know but I agree).
I don't see us paying him just over 5 mil that I believe becomes fully guaranteed at the new league year. Just my opinion

You mean this year? Maybe, but we'll almost certainly lose McKinnon. I can't imagine we'd release Murray, too, before his contract expires. But I'm not a cap maester the way some are. I think we'll draft one in the middle rounds this year.

Ya, his last two years are option years. I think 5.15 mil is a bit steep for Murray. I think we can get a guy like Blount that will be available at a fraction of the price.
We will be drafting a RB for sure. I am going to start looking at them here soon. I haven't looked much into anything but QBs lol

I heart Penny...big time...not sure he makes it out of the second, but if he does I'll go full Nikita Khrushchev...

Kalen Ballage - RB - Sun DevilsAn NFC team director of college scouting tells NFL.com Media Analyst Lance Zierlein Arizona State running back Kalen Ballage will be the hot name out of the NFL Scouting Combine.
"Mark this down. Nobody will be talking about him until he gets to the Combine, where he will lift well, run well and jump out of the stadium. Then, he'll be the hot name," the executive says. While Ballage doesn't have the same hype as some of the other running backs in the class, he actually has picked up steam after his strong showing at the senior bowl. Zierlein goes as far as to expect Ballage (6'2/224) to get comparisons to David Johnson.Source: NFL.com Feb 9 - 10:19 PM

Ito Smith - RB - Golden EaglesNFL Draft Scout's Frank Cooney ranks Southern Miss RB Ito Smith as the top running back who wasn't invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.
Smith performed reasonably well in the Senior Bowl game, but wasn't a standout in practices, and won't get a chance to test in Indianapolis. The former USM star was one of the most productive tailbacks when you consider his rushing prowess and ability as a receiver, but his size (5'9/201) and lack of breakaway speed is likely to limit him to a late Day 3 pick, which is what NFL Draft Scout currently views him.

Poona Ford - DL - LonghornsNFL Draft Scout's Frank Cooney listed Texas DL Poona Ford as the top prospect who wasn't invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.
Ford was the Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the Big 12 and performed well at the East-West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl, but was snubbed from getting an invite to Indianapolis. NFL Draft Scout currently ranks Ford as the 120th best player on their board, and give him a grade that suggest he should go in rounds 3-to-4. There were 28 players who were drafted in 2017 who didn't get a combine invite. Ford should be one of those players in 2018.

For what it's worth, Denver radio was at the Senior Bowl and they couldn't stop raving about Ballage. Big, fast, powerful, shifty, can block and catch the ball.
