Some good Senior Bowl scuttlebutt
--Sean Payton high on Mayfield
--Mayfield already pissing off some by showing up late and missing the measurements, may or may not play in the game.
--Mason Rudolph will not play due to injury
Dallas Goedert is said to be the best TE at the Senior Bowl, but I'm more excited to watch Adam Breneman from UMass. Really like how he profiles. He may never be a star, but I think he'll play 10 years in the NFL.

I would love to see the Vikes get Goedert, but I think our 1st round is a tad high, but I am sure he will be gone by our 2nd. after losing our 1st last year and our 4th this year, we really cant afford to be packaging picks and moving up so either grab him in the first or trade down if possible.
on a side note, anybody think this years draft should just be held in Cleveland, think of all the draft picks that wouldnt have to fly to their new cities..
6 picks in the first 3 rounds... thats the kind of shit that would give a new GM wood... until he realizes that he is GM of the Browns so its all likely in vain.
A little tidbit from my end: Pay attention to Western Kentucky QB Mike White who is down there. The Vikings spent more time than usual around Western Kentucky earlier this fall to get a good look at him.

I'm interested to see which way Goedert's stock moves as the draft process hits full gear. He isn't a very explosive athlete but does a lot of the little things right. Some may see that as a positive, others as a negative. I could see the Vikings becoming interested in SC TE Hayden Hurst. He fits what they're looking for in a move TE complimentary to Rudy.

Good football IQ and strong in the pocket. Arm strength is a bit of a question but hopefully the senior bowl will help put that to rest. No team has a draft board at this point, but he could go as early as the 2nd round if he shows well.@"Geoff Nichols" said: A little tidbit from my end: Pay attention to Western Kentucky QB Mike White who is down there. What about the UCF quarterback? He looked like a man amongst boys.

Will Hernandez has looked pretty good today! He looks pretty strong and has started 49 games at left guard for UTEP.
Would look good in purple!

Was watching some practices yesterday and one comment about Humboldt State LT Alex Cappa was that his tape comes with a parental warning.
“This guy has the nastiest tape I’ve ever seen,” Mayock told his cohost Daniel Jeremiah as they watched footage of Cappa’s in-game highlights.
“Just studied Humboldt State OT Alex Cappa,” Jeremiah wrote on Twitter. “This is some rated R violence. Holy biscuits. Who pee’d in his Cheerios?”

He's worked out really well at the senior bowl. Until he shows some more mobility its hard to say he is a great system fit in MN. He isn't the type of guard you are going to be stretching out to the 2nd level. He is the guy who is going to sink his hip and anchor in pass protection and engage his man and push him straight back.
Baker Mayfield - QB - Sooners
Optimum Scouting's Eric Galko wrote that Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield "looks like a computer" in his assessment of reads.
Galko passes along that Mayfield looked "completely comfortable in the pocket with his progressions" during Thursday's practice. The analyst adds that the 6-foot, 216-pound Heisman winner has been crisp in his footwork and deadly accurate when throwing to the right. There have been no surprise skeletons in how he's handled practice work in Mobile. He's currently undecided as to whether he'll play in the Senior Bowl itself, but that matters far less than the way he's been handling his reps. In addition to his on-field success, he's also been a gravitational force in the locker room -- Mayfield has the personality and demeanor to win over teammates and it's shown even in this manufactured setting.

-Which position unit has performed the best during practices this week? Tight end. And that is somewhat surprising considering the top tight end at the Senior Bowl, South Dakota State’s Dallas Goedert, exited early on Tuesday with a minor hamstring injury.
But the rest of the tight end group has had plenty of impressive reps. At North practice, Penn State’s Mike Gesicki looked like a mismatch weapon with his clean routes and angular frame to attack the football. Central Michigan’s Tyler Conklin is a very smooth athlete and didn’t labor getting open. Notre Dame’s Durham Smythe might not have a specific strength, but he is a well-rounded player who finishes in a crowd. And Wisconsin’s Troy Fumagalli doesn’t impress with his size or burst, but his route-running and ball skills are why he will play in the NFL for a long time.
Isaiah Wynn - G - BulldogsNFL Media draft analyst Mike Mayock called Georgia OL Isaiah Wynn the "most intriguing guy here" during Senior Bowl practices.Wynn played tackle for his senior season at Georgia, but he's moving inside to give scouts a look at guard, and multiple outlets have reported that he's impressed. "I thought Wynn, the Georgia tackle who played guard this week, was the most intriguing guy here," Mayock wrote. "He had a dominant week of practice. He's helped himself a great deal." It sounds like Wynn is moving himself into Day 2 discussions, and should be one of the first guards off the board.
