Offensive Gameplan - What was it?
Seriously. We march right down with a nice mix of Murray, McKinnon, and play action passing on the first drive. I was feeling it.
Then after that.... what? Did Shurmur get flustered? What happened?
Felt like McKinnon had 82 touches tonight. That's not how we win games. Case was getting pressured so I understand the need for screens but if that's the case, how come every time we got into the redzone it was 4 wide and throwing past the sticks every play?
I like Shurmur a lot and would love for him to stay (not happening). But wow. I don't understand the gameplan at all today. The Eagles O did what we should have. Sucks.
I think the Eagles were well prepared for shutting down our normal gameplan and we weren't executing well enough anything else we tried.
I saw that one video who highlighted how bad the Eagles DBs were getting beat deep on double moves. I just don't think our OLine blocked well enough to allow us the deep throws created more space underneath.
Yeah the only deep shot I recall was a touchdown to Rudolph. I know Case didn't have time but dang.
The o line got reshuffled and had a bad day.
You cant go deep when there is no time to even plant your feet. WRs dont have time to run a route before he was swarmed back there.
You guys know this stuff. We have seen it a lot before.
O line went up against a good D and a good gameplan. The Viking's D was overwhelmed.
They looked awesome on the opening drive, but when Case threw the Pick 6, the momentum was never recaptured. Once we got behind, we seemed to panic on offense. Case was under pressure at times, but I don't think it was anymore than what the Saints did. In fact, I thought they neutralized Cox quite well most of the game. He still made plays, but we were running the ball effectively and had their defense off balance. Case also seemed to get nervous in the pocket when he had time to make plays down field. He didn't use his legs and seemed very Bradford like instead of extending plays. He also struggled on third downs when Schwartz blitzed. When our defense didn't hold up, we had to get out of our game plan and become a one dimensional passing team to make a comeback effort which definitely played into the Eagles hands. That's not who this team is. We need a threat of a running game to set-up play action. Overall I thought we consistently were able to move the ball, but made too many mistakes and didn't finish drives with points.
The game plan was to see where Mannings head is, and to look at the upcoming QB class. See what pieces he needs to reserect the Oline. Get coaches in place so the NYGs will be ready to roll.

We were in control of the game but some bounces didn't go our way.
We had the #1 D in the league this year in net yards against. Philly was #4 which was the toughest D we faced all year. We only played 5 of 16 games against top 10 defenses, including 2 against the Bears who really don't seem that good but that's just net yards, not the only defensive metric out there.

this exactly.
We could throw on Phillys D. That was their weakness. However, their rush was beating our oline and Keenum wasn't able to get the ball there.
The defense sucked and the offense shit the bed.
I would imagine the game plan was to not turn the ball over. Once that started happening they were behind the eight ball and never recovered.

I absolutely hate how accurate I think this is.

Yeah, I am grateful to Shurmur for his work with our offense but it's hard not to suspect he was distracted last Sunday.
