Despite angst about Joe Buck... His family is part of MN History

He said something during the broadcast that seemed to allude to the fact that he is aware of how much angst we have regarding him... Something to the effect of, "Vikings fans will hate me for bringing this up, but now is the time to re-write the narrative..."

Seems pretty self-aware.

I think you could substitute almost any fan base for Vikings in that sentence and still be correct.

I have mentioned it in other threads, I hate Joe a little less after that call. He seemed very excited for the Vikings and as Mike said, He let the momement to play out.

Look up the Rich Eisen show from Monday where Joe was on there. He said leaving Sunday night je only got fake mooned once. He and Eisen laughed, so I think Joe knowa where a lot of that hate comes from.

To be honest, I don't even remember the call live. As Diggs caught it I went from screaming out of bounds to just pure joyous screaming.  Sorta like Pete in the radio call by PA.

Also on the Rich Eisen show - he stated that our new Stadium is hands down the best in the country! He is very very impressed with our new home. that was cool to hear, he's seen them all!

Joe Buck doesn't really bother me anymore, at least not as a result of his commentary of the Moss fake moon incident. I guess I'm over that. He's a little self-important, but not over the top.  Now I really hate Sean Payton.

Ahhh... I meant to post this when I saw it months and months ago but I saw a video of Buck on some podcast/YouTube show(?) where they discussed his Moss call and how much he was hated in MN because of it. He was cool as shit and said he knew they hated him but understood why. If memory serves, I think he then said something along the lines of being caught up in the moment, being a broadcaster, and it just came out that way. He's never disliked the Vikes.

He's off my shit list. 

EDIT: This also was pretty funny. I guess Lange and Buck are good friends and after the show Buck was not only a good sport about it but had told him previously to roast him as much as possible.

Pearson, Staubach and Buck share a permenent tatoo of shame, never will I be able to think of these names with out a reptilian brain response.  They get the same response as kale, brussle spouts and Franciscan Nuns.

He is.  I'm telling you, I have had several talks with Joe Buck, he is a really good guy.  Not egotistical like most think he is.  He is self-deprecating and funny.  He is NOT a Packer fan.  He is a fan of good games, which means strong viewership, which means money and job security.   Broadcasters (with the exception of everybody and Brett Favre) don't have favorites.   The fans think they do, because if one is broadcasting a game where "our" team loses and says anything good about the winning team, then they are playing favorites.
Had Joe Buck known the reason Moss mooned in Jan 2005 (because Packer fans moon opposing team buses), then he very likely would have had a different take, and explained that to fans.

My biggest beef with those two is their low energy level during games, golf tournament coma enducing low

I didn't hear the call live, as I too was running around in disbelief, but was impressed later hearing the excitement from Buck
