The Minnesota Vikings started their week of practice in preparation for the New Orleans Saints with only two players limited in Wednesday’s practice. That changed for the worse on Thursday.
Cornerback Terence Newman didn’t participate in Thursday’s practice because of a foot injury and defensive end Everson Griffen was added to the injury report (limited) with a foot injury.
Reserve defensive tackle Shamar Stephen remained limited with an ankle injury, just like he was on Wednesday.

Not worried.  Newman will be fine and Griffen has been banged up all year.

You know what I don't see?  OL injuries.

Any injuries for NO????

Here's all I know of:

New Orleans will be without starting left guard Andrus Peat, who landed
on injured reserve after suffering a broken fibula against the Carolina
Panthers, and will be starting Senio Kelemete in his place

Griff has looked like he's been hurting for at least the past three games.  I'm sure he'll play, but man, it'd be nice to have him play at his usual speed.

Really hope they're just being cautious with Griff.  I know his foot has been an issue but was thinking the extra week would help him heal up a bit.

i think plantar faciatis is supposed to take a long rest to heal. If so, he won't be at full speed again tnis season.

I don't think the Vikings have "added" anyone to the injury report. They're just resting players who've been nursing the same injuries for weeks.

Brandon Coleman - WR - Saints

Brandon Coleman (neck) is out for Sunday's Divisional Round game against the Vikings.

He couldn't get the green light after missing practice all week. Coleman (6'6/225) would have had a distinct size advantage over Terence Newman (5'10/197) in the slot. His absence will open up snaps for Willie Snead.

I've had it. It takes forever. You can work through the pain, but it never feels good. It always feels like something is going to rip in half.

Vikings CB Terence Newman listed questionable for Sunday's playoff vs. SaintsTerence Newman was limited during Friday’s practice with a foot injury. The Vikings listed him questionable to play for Sunday’s NFC Divisional playoff against the Saints.
It’ll likely take a significant injury to keep Newman, the NFC’s oldest defender at 39 years old, from playing in his ninth career playoff game. He’s played a key role for the NFL’s No. 1 defense this season, seeing about 56 percent of the snaps as the primary slot corner.
Newman is the only Vikings player listed questionable vs. the Saints.

The Saints boards talk about losing several guys to injuries this season.  They have done a great job to replace several people and make a serious playoff run.  You have to give them credit.

if we have to go with a D starter/major contributor being limited or out,  I cant really think of a better situation,   not that Newman doesnt pull his weight or is a weak spot,  but having Alexander in the wings is pretty comforting.

slot corner is a bitch to play for even the best,  its really nice to have 2 guys that are doing it at a pretty high level.

Ok, but if they had lost their starting QB and their top rookie running back, would they where they are now? Without Brees or Kamara? They would not be in the playoffs. Vikings are the 2 seed. Gotta give us credit, too.
