I am wondering what the O line lineup will be for next week.
I think it'll be Reiff-Sirles-Elflein-Berger-Remmers. IMO, I think I'd like to see Hill at RT, but I don't think that will be happening.
I'm not sure I was in love with Hill/Remmers on the right side. I could see the Vikings taking an OT high next year and grooming them for the right side and eventually moving Remmers in.
I agree, Sticky.
Hill is getting better and better. He has a great frame for LT, and has solid pass pro Left or Right.
Remmers does his job well on The Right at either position, but can be run around more easily. He has great pop in the run game.
The priority on OL is Base Strength. In this regard, Easton turned out to be kind of a secret weapon this year, rather than Boone's backup.
our team should have enough positions full going into the draft that OL should be able to see significant attention.
The Vikings are planning on rolling with Reiff - Berger - Elflein - Remmers - Hill. They liked that right side of the O-line last weekend.

I think that's the best lineup now with Easton out....I'm just surprised they are actually doing it. Hill just looks like a NFL OT.

I'd even say this line is potentially better than the Reiff-Easton-Elf-Berger-Remmers line.
@"MaroonBells" said:Pushing Remmers inside to RG was the long-term plan when they signed him. Use him at OT until they could find a long-term solution there, them bump him in a spot. Given his contract he could play either without feeling like you're over extending for a position.@"Geoff Nichols" said: The Vikings are planning on rolling with Reiff - Berger - Elflein - Remmers - Hill. They'll likely draft another OT high, but you really don't NEED to find another day 1 starter even with Berger retiring.
Thanks for the info guys. I still barely know these guys names!
Your confidence will spread. Im feeling it already.
Easton still does not get enough love. He may have a body by Pillsbury, but he is strong.
It seemed the collected Viking fan base let out a groan when he hobbled off the field.

I wasn't aware that was the long term plan, but it sounds like a good idea. Remmers contract (5 for 30) is only slightly larger than the one we gave Fusco three years ago (5 for 25). Factoring inflation and the rising cap, it could be seen as significantly less.Next year's camp line could look like this.
LT - Reiff, Hill, Collins
LG - Easton, Sirles (wondering if we try to bring Sirles back. He's a valuable swing man, but he could get some Geoff-Schwartz-type interest on the market)
C - Elflein, Easton, Edison
RG - Remmers, Isadora
RT - Hill, draft pick (I'm betting we try to extend Hill during the 2018 season before his price gets too high)
Thats a great summary Marroon. thanks. I have a hard time keeping all of the lineman straight.
Elflein is the ultimate key to the success of the offensive line. When he was out with the injured shoulder, the play of the line noticeably suffered.

Daddy likey. Very much.

He is. And he's a mauler. Sirles doesn't bring that fighting mentality as much.
I do like that lineup. I'm torn on the biggest need on the OL next year. I'm still leaning more towards G than T, as of today. Hill stepping up really helps that group. Berger retiring and other Gs being FAs kind of make that spot a priority to me. One could make a valid argument for either position I think. Hopefully the free agency period clears up the mud a bit.

Hopefully the free agency period clears up the mud a bit.a lot easier to kick a OT into a G than to find a G that can kick out to OT. I say look for the OT since we have Isidora, Easton, and Remmers that can play Guard, but only Reiff, Remmers, and Hill that can play the much more demanding and harder to find position of OT. I also think we need to add another C as well. (yet another guy that could kick out to play G.)
Orlando Brown Jr might be hanging around at the end of Round One.

Hill is massive and could be the LT of the future if he continues to develop. So nice to have a solid starting line and depth as well. Sirles is a great swing player, Isadora has a future IMO. Elflein is the offensive MVP.
As to the starting lineup, I don't see why it won't be the starting lineup sans Easton.
