On Monday morning, the Minnesota Vikings will know who they will face in the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs. No matter the opponent, the Vikings know one area their defense will have to be great in order to advance: Shutting down elite running backs in the passing game.
Depending on outcomes, the Vikings will either match up with the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints or Carolina Panthers.

That means taking on either Todd Gurley, Alvin Kamara/Mark Ingram or Christian McCaffrey.
Here’s how they performed this season as receivers:
Gurley: 64 catches, 788 yards (12.3 yards per catch) six touchdowns
Kamara: 81 catches, 826 yards (10.3 yards per catch) five touchdowns
Ingram: 58 catches, 416 yards (7.2 yards per catch)
McCaffrey: 80 catches, 651 yards (8.1 yards per catch) five touchdowns
The Vikings have the No. 1 defense in the NFL in yards against and scoring. They also rank No. 1 when it comes to slowing down opponents’ running backs in passing yards allowed. According to Football Outsiders, Minnesota’s defense allows just 30.6 yards passing to RBs per game.

The title of this article is backwards.  It should be, "For Dual-Threat Running Backs, the Road to the Super Bowl goes through the NFL's Best Defense at Stopping Dual-Threat Running Backs."

I should have been an editor.

I love the threat of a good duel. Probably won't see anything as good as Burr-Hamilton, though.

So I guess the Rams have already beat the Falcons...wow...and it's still Thursday.

I think the article is talking about who the Vikings will play in their first playoff game. Since they included the Saints and Panthers, that leaves the possibility that the Falcons win, we just won't see the Falcons on the 14th

Anyone besides me notice the Rams were 3-4 at “home”? (+1 win in London) Not very impressive, at all!
