Does Zim Walk Away if the Vikes Win?
Florio has been all over this with PA and on PFT for a couple weeks now. I don't think it happens, but Florio does have one point. It will never be as good as this one if they win it all. First SB championship for the team and it will have happened at the home stadium.
doubt it. I could see BRob retiring if we do. But I doubt Zim would leave a team as loaded as this.
No way. He's got a window with a very talented team. I see him coaching another 4-5 years.
did Da Vinci quit after he painted The Last Supper? hell no, and thankfully he didnt or we wouldnt have the Mona Lisa.
Why in the hell would Zim retire after only 4 years of being a HC? This team is his dream. Maybe I read the guy wrong, but I dont see him stepping aside until he has created his master piece.
This isn't an attack at you, so don't take it that way, but that is a pretty weak argument. Yes, getting the first win will get the monkey off our backs and winning at home will be cool, but why stop there? If you ask me, our window isn't even fully open yet, and you know whats cooler than winning 1 Super Bowl? Winning 2. Because its taken the Pack 2 Hall of Fame QBs to get 2 in the last how many years, and we are gonna do it with Case F'n Keenum.
Does anyone really think the guy that told his doctor to CUT OUT HIS EYE so he could keep coaching his team instead of having more surgeries is just going to walk away after they win a Super Bowl??? This guy lives, breathes, eats, and shits football. No way it happens.
Not a chance - he has waited too long to become a HC - still "young" compared to other coaches and how long they do this (if there good enough to have a HC job!). I see 10 more years if his health hold up. AND hopefully a hand full of SB wins!
Gotta call BS on this one. I cannot imagine Zimmer walking away after this year. Robison? Yes. Newman? Yes. But not Zimmer. He has waited too long for this opportunity. And it's not like he has been a Viking so long that he has suffered through decades of Vikings history. This is the first year where we have even a semblance of an offense. And he is going to walk away from this? I don't think so.
(If he were considering it, I hope he tells Spielman and Shurmur so Shurmur will have that info as he decides what to do next.)
If the Vikings did win the Super Bowl, the state of Minnesota would not allow Zimmer to walk away even if he wanted to...which he doesn't.

Seriously...? The King of the North relinquishes his crown to no man! B)
Football is his life, his passion. It's why he gets up every morning. He a competitive person, and how else do you feed that?
I would be shocked if he did.

Funny thing, I don't hear Pittsburgh, New England, Dallas or San Francisco's current or former players and coaches saying subsequent SBs didn't mean as much, Mr. Florio...
He’ll get a raise on top of it. Im as excited as anyone but lets win the divisional round and then beat the ever loving shot out of the aints before we start counting multiple rings.
My question is walk away and do what? He loves to coach and football is his life. No wife. What would he do but go build another defense for another team. He said he loves these guys.
I doubt he would walk away with just one SB.
What the actual fuck? Is Florio drinking? No way. I just don't see it. Zimmer loves football and has overcome so much adversity. He was talking about being greedy about getting the home games. I think he would want more after getting a taste for it.
Ok, so the question really is then, is what if Case, Sam AND Teddy all walk away?
What if the front office drifts off into the sunset and US Bank is abandoned next season?!
