Update: apparently he got guaranteed money above what is standard for a CFL player. Had significant interest from other teams. 24 years old, 6'3", 220 lbs. From the Twin Cities. Vikes think he can mimic Thielen's path possibly. Leading WRer in the CFL.

besides Joe Kapp,  have any of these CFL signings ever produced for the Vikes?

I can think of a couple that included a pretty decent coach. B) Bud Grant and WR, Leo Lewis.  Didn't they have some WR from the CFL that didn't last around the time Favre was signed?

Also, current DT Tom Johnson played a year in the CFL before he signed with the Saints.

This Brandon Zylstra is interesting that he played in Moorhead for the Concordia Cobbers.  I'm sure it's a long shot, but AT could probably mentor him and give good advice.

These players played in the CFL before NFL:

Warren Moon, Joe Horn, Cameron Wake, Joe Theismann, Jeff Garcia.....and that's just 5. 

I think the Vikings pursued Wake.

We did pursue Wake, almost kept him and had a 3 DE rotation of Jared, Ray, and Cameron for 2009.  Wow, def missed out on that one

His story and Adam's are very similar.  One unusual twist is, he actually turned down the Vikings last year and chose the CFL instead.  I sounded as though he thought the CFL would give him the best shot at putting game tape up to show teams he's maybe worth more than just a camp body.  Looks like the risk maybe worked out for him.  

What could it hurt

His agent said 20 teams looked to sign him.

There'll never, ever be another MOBO. That whole thing was a joke. Wasted a 5th round draft choice on a guy that never played a down of football in college or high school in the U.S. Raw doesn't begin to describe the guy. Comparing him to sushi would be an understatement. 

It would be nice if one would work out for us. IIRC not many, if any, have worked out for the Vikings. It would be a nice surprise if we lucked out.
