Brutally honest assessment
Unless the offense steps up their game, we're done. Today we saw what happens when the offense can't stay on the field: our defense (which is fast and filled with good tacklers) gets tired and isn't as effective. A team with a good defense will be able to score vs. our defense (when it gets tired).
Case has not been impressive the last few weeks. But it's too late to make a change. So either Shurmur has to step it up and design some more effective plays... or Case has to execute better.
13-3.
Seems like nonsense to me. The Eagles have lost two games going in.
We get a few weeks off. Hopefully our offensive line heals.
i agree. part of it today was the line not giving him much time—with Elfline back and everone playing their old positions (well, except for Sirles of course) maybe that improves.
Division games are always tough. I know it was ugly but not concerned just yet. It's still a win.
You don't think 12 penalties had anything to do with that do you?
Penalties have hurt us all year.
I think the offense had 9 penalties.
The bears also have a fine top 10 defense that came to play today

its a combo of bad oline play and shaky QB play. He hasnt looked on a premier level since the Atlanta game.
enjoy the 13 games we won this year, it is most likely one and done. but the future is bright.
This team is a QB away from being truly dominant. Should be a destination for any free agent QB
People tend to look at their own team and diss on things that aren't going perfectly but overlook how other teams in other games are doing. There have been some issues with every team. There are teams that match up better against others. Injuries - minor and major. Tough divisional or familiar opponent games. Of course it's natural to worry about things but to claim they're done because of this or that over a couple games is overly pessimistic. They have two weeks now to heal up and prepare. There are a lot of dinged up players right now. Four NFC teams won't have that opportunity, including whichever one comes to USB.

I agree with this post. We as fans need to trust. That they just need to heal.

Hmm...Swept the Norris with the exception of stubbing our toe vs Lions.
Vikings will be pumped for a home playoff game and it will be epic. Getting Elf back and 2 weeks off is huge.

I made it up ... i watched the raiders game. They should have lost ... i was hoping they lost ... and they omayed poorly on offense

The problem with that is that their backups outplayed their starters today and they still lost. And the game against the Raiders was a case study in futility. Neither team could
figure out how to lose. I don’t see the Eagles winning in the playoffs.

Time of possession had the Vikings at 36 minutes vs the Bears at 24. Not sure why they should be tired?
It's a fair assessment. Penalties, inconsistent O-Line Pass Pro and Case just hasn't been as sharp. Penalties is the one that's really bugging me the most.
QBs that aren't Tier 1 are streaky. Keenum can certainly get lava hot again. The O-Line has been juggling lineups which has hurt the chemistry.
But the freaking penalties! Need to cut that crap out in the post season.

They were a 2 foot lower pass by Eli from losing to the awful Giants the week before too... on a day when their passing game WAS working.
Or, we beat a division opponent by 13 with our RG at C, the RT playing RG, and backups at RT and LG.
Today's OL wasn't shuffled, it was 5 card monte. Get well quick Elf!
OK
While you go over some more tape
Excuse the rest while we enjoy the moment
GO VIKINGS !!!!!
HAPPY NEWYEAR !!
THE REST & Best is yet to come !!!
It's tough because we faced a top 10 defense with a completely reshuffled OL and the weak before we played in horrible field conditions, so while the offense isn't clicking on all cylinders, I don't think we should be panicking. The good news is that we have a 1st round bye, so the OL has time to get healthy and get back on track. Also, even when things weren't going great, the running game was still strong and we were able to get enough out of the passing attack to win. Pair that with an elite defense like we have, and that will still match up well even against teams that are much more balanced than the Bears. It's a strong crop of playoff teams in the NFC, so the Vikings will need to earn their way through each round.
