My Trip to Lambeau Field -Probably never again

Ok so as you all may have seen in my drunken rage last Saturday night I proclaimed my doneness with the NFL.... Well there's a story behind it and one that after calming down I can find some humor in it though I am still more than a little disturbed about what almost happened to me. 

So I will start this story off with the admittance that I had been drinking. And I was feeling it for sure. With that disclaimer I have to tell this story from two different perspectives. First my own perspective and then with the information that was unknown to me that was relayed to me later. 

It all started when we arrived in Green Bay at our hotel which was in a crummy green bay suburb with typical crummy suburban offerings. Our hotel had no bar in it, but there was two bars located across the parking lot. One of which allowed someone to bring their dog to the bar with them. Now, I love my dogs as much as anyone, but if you are so beholden to drinking that you can't separate yourself from your dog.... or you are so beholden to your dog that you can't separate yourself for your drink.... You just might have a problem..... However this is Wisconsin, an island in a sea of reality. At any rate we decided to have a pregame drink at the bowling alley bar. It was an ok joint. We had a couple there and then we realized that we had missed the first shuttle to the game. So we had a couple more. And then my brother buys a whiskey shot for me and him. (there's still 3hours until game time) BY the time the next shuttle arrives to pick us up I believe I had in my 2.5 beers, a weak Jim Beam and Diet (I gotta watch my figure) and a shot of fire whiskey? Indeed, I am a happy cheerful Vikings fan. 

We board the shuttle to the game and the driver and the packers fans are being good about the back and forth between us. All except for the say 50 and older packer fans. The younger fans are actually pretty cool and realize that this just isn't their year. Anyway that will be a theme that continues throughout the night. So we get to the drop off point from the shuttle which drops us at a place called "The Bar". No shit. We still have an hour or two before we need to be in the stadium. So naturally we go to "The Bar" I believe I had one beer here but it was a coors light and not my thing so I didn't drink much of that. However, I did imbibe off the flask I had brought with me - Woodford Reserve Bourbon. I am still feeling pretty good. 

We decide to leave "The Bar" early to go see a bit of Lambeau and I have to admit the walk up to the stadium is pretty cool. I enjoyed it. We finally get to our seats in outdoor club section. Pretty nice seats. There are lots of part vikings part packers fans around us. One particularly nice couple sitting next to me as I was on the end of our block of four seats. I sort of offered up that it would be a more interesting game had Rodgers been playing. We agreed and I spent the first quarter and a half having some good football conversation  with the people next to me and in close proximity. At one point one of their players is down with an injury, and there is a commotion going on in our section. Whatever. I am happy slightly browning out Vikings Fan guy. The next thing I know I turn to look at the field and several rows in front of me (there were fully empty rows of seats) is a packer fan who looks like someone shoved a red hot fire stoker up his butt. He is pissed and he is climbing over his seat and coming at me (that's how I saw it). Ok I am no longer happy fun vikings fan guy, now I am "oh shit time to defend myself because for whatever reason it is ON" guy. At the same time there is a red vested security attendant standing at the end of the row, who is asking who is in seat 11. I am thinking "Hey I won a Prize! - is this the lottery ticket winner thing? I am seat 11!" It was not the lottery ticket winner thing and I wasn't actually seated in seat 11. She looks at me and says "I need you and everyone with you to come with me"

I am very confused at this point. 

She hauls us up to the top of the section and starts reading us the riot act about offensive behavior and lewd comments. Ok I had just had my adrenaline shoot through the roof because angry red hot poker in the butt guy wanted to take my head off and I am confused because seconds before this I was having a lovely conversation with the fans next to me, and Jeannie (the attendant lady) is going off on me talking about how they have me on camera being offensive and blah blah blah. I might have gotten a little upset at this point. So I am trying to get through to this lady that I didn't do anything of the sort. I intentionally put my hands behind my back while talking to her because I know the last thing that I want to do is to touch her at all. But my brother and my brother in law are all trying to get me to shut up... which is just frustrating me more and more. They keep stepping between me and her and all I want to do is to talk to her. Apparently I might have raised my voice in my frustration. Uh-oh that's a policeman......... Next thing I know there is a cop standing next to me. Something to the effect of "take it easy or you will be locked up for christmas". So now not only do I keep my hands behind my back but I also go and stand with my back and hands against the wall. I may be a bit tipsy but I know full well to let the cop know that I am in no way going to threaten him. At all. So I notice the cops badge and I address him by name "Officer Meier" I hope to god I didn't call him "Oscar Meyer". Anyway he can tell I have had a bit to drink and I even said to him "Look I am a bit drunk, but I didn't do anything of the sort that is being said." He sort of smiles and takes it in stride. I hear him ask Jeannie (The attendant lady) did you call me over here? To which she says "No. Not me". So there's a bit of confusion between her and Officer Meier about what is going on. Meanwhile the lovely couple and the other people that I had been having conversations with keep coming up and saying "It wasn't them! It wasn't them!" - Keep in mind this is Vikings fans AND Packer fans. So Officer Meier takes all of our licenses and runs them for warrants. After a while he comes back and gives us our licenses back. My brother in law takes some stupid piece of paper from Jeanie and we all disperse..... "What the fuck just happened?" I am still very confused about why I was hauled out of my seat and made out to be some jackass.

I need to cool down so I go and get a bite to eat and a diet pepsi. (I fucking hate pepsi) At this point I am done with the NFL and the treatment of regular fans -It is a thing that had been on my mind the last few weeks. I eventually calm down and I go find a different red vested attendant and I ask them to find me their manager who happens to be a PR member. I explain the entire situation to this person who is a delight to talk to in comparison. I explain that there is no way I am going into another teams stadium and risk my reputation by acting like a jerk. I told her about the "Surveillance Video" and she was like "What? I highly doubt that". I ended up watching the second half of the game with them....
