Don't expect any help from these gutless wonders Sunday. Being a #4 seed keeps them away from US Bank stadium potentially.

probably a smart move on their part. how often does a 3 seed ever host the conference final. 3 or 4 seed big deal. i guess we have to play the saints one way or another, probably would be the hardest game of the playoffs minus the super bowl.

All kidding aside, I get his logic: there's no week of rest regardless of a #3 or #4 seed as you play the following week in the wildcard round, so get some rest for some players this Sunday in preparation.

Just a fact in pro sports that this type of s hit is going to happen at seasons end. Especially this league and this game. I honestly dont think it's got anything to do with who they'd play next lol.

I do remember after we won at Lamblow 2 seasons ago the talk of would we be better off losing that game and playing I think the Cards instead of Seattle...

1.  Kick the shit outta the Bears at home
2. Kick the shit outta ? At home
3.  Kick the shit outta someone else home or away.

4. Kick the shit outta some poor AFC victim at home.

I think it plays into it. I really do. I think he's right in that they want to get players healthy, but I also think teams are just licking their chops at the notion of facing Nick Foles.

But the 3 seed gets to host Seattle or Atlanta. Those teams look pretty vulnerable now. The 4 seed would get Carolina. I guess the Rams are thinking they could beat any of those teams at home. Probably so; but Carolina is the best of those 3. It is not a stretch to think that the Saints will beat the Vikings - that should be a great game.  If they do, and the Rams are still standing because they beat Philly, the NFCCG will be 3 vs 4 in N.O. rather than in L.A.

I remember that, too. We won the game and faced Seattle at home. Packers lost and went on the road to beat the Redskins.

Yes, that's exactly right!

Vikings vs Saints @ USB would be one hell of a game. EPIC even.

Heck, any of the NFC for that matter.

My money is on that no matter how it plays out, the Vikes face New Orleans in Minn.  And it is going to be epic.  That place will be rocking with fans crying for blodd after the 2009 fiasco.  The only question who are the refs pulling for?
Does the NFL actually want a home team in a Superbowl?

Well the strategy of making Goff, Gurly & Donald spectators worked great for us on Nov 19th !

Doesn't it really just put even more wear and tear on the remaining starters ? One would think the Defense is going to be on the field a lot more, getting banged up ??

I know the narrative is that the Saints are a much better team now than when we beat them week one. I think that's true offensively. In shipping AP and better dialing in the roles of Ingram and Kamara, they've hit their stride. But I remember the Saints' improved defense being the story of the preseason, before we played them. It could be that we just match up with them well on that side of the ball.

So if the "impossible" happens on Sunday and the Vikings, Rams, Saints, and Falcons all lose, Carolina gets the 2 seed,   Vikings get the 3, Rams are 4, Saints are 5, and Seattle is 6.
The Saints would play the Rams in L.A. in round 1, and the Vikings get Seattle at home. The Vikings beat Seattle and go to Carolina, while the winner of N.O. and L.A. plays Philly.
We beat Carolina and host the NFCCG against the Rams or Saints - I have no faith in the Eagles with Foles.

Didn't know we needed "help" from the Rams.  Mike Zimmer told me that's a loser's mentality, and I agreed.

I also remember the mere mentioning of laying down for seeding purposes had many in here seething,  saying the north title was more important than playoff seeding.  It was a pretty hot topic for a few days.@"purplefaithful" said:
