Its possible this could bring out Viking's fans in droves, but it will be cold as shizzle as its a night game in late December.

As long as you are dressed for it those cold ass games are a blast.  The playoff game against Seattle a few years ago was incredible, except for the beer freezing in your can before you could finish it lol and then the shanked FG obviously.  But before the FG miss, it was an awesome, awesome experience, easily one of my favorite experiences at a Vikings game.

Decent tickets to be had at <$150.  If I wasn't already busy, I'd be going....

I have outdoor Club tickets on the 50 yardline. Given to me by my wifes Ex. (he is a packer fan)

It's a helluva lot colder when your team of destiny is facing a butt kicking & sub .500 season  ;)  A case of Milwaukee's Best Light Ice would be a powerful bargaining tool*

I remember all the Packer fans @ the dome and never blamed the holders for selling, just the way it goes !!!

I won't be there but know 5 who are going. I'm a cold weather wimp. Tailgating on Sunday when it was 20 degrees is pretty much my limit. For those who are going, cheer loud and represent the purple!

Fantastic seats...  My brother and I were able to get tickets in the Club section around the 45 through my wife's family years ago.

Everyone but us were Packer fans...  We took off our jackets to show our Vikings jerseys.  We were met with a round of hearty booooos.  LOL

Everyone was super nice about it though...  had some laughs and had a great experience.  The funniest part was there was a younger couple sitting next to us and the dude's wife was WASTED.  He kept apologizing to us because she was sitting right next to me...  I thought she was a hoot!

I hope everyone has a great time at the game!!!  Seriously...  Get that SKOL chant going if (when) the Vikings have a big lead.  I wanna hear it on TV...

I was in the upper bowl; a few seats over from us there was a group of guys smoking/passing a cigar and blowing giant clouds up into the air. ... at least, I think it was a "cigar..."

Not sure what the old smoking policy at games used to be, but it was a small touch that really made the game feel like an old classic I would hear stories about growing up and watch on. I grew up with the Vikes inside of the Metrodome. I always wondered what it used to be like back then and would kinda lothe that we were stuck inside that I couldn't go back and check it out for myself. That Seattle game was a "bucket list" type of game for me, and for one game, I felt like I was a part of our team's history. 

I'm still bitter about the kick, but as the edge wears off and we are contending this year, man it was pretty cool to be there.  

 

My first game as a kid was at the Dome, so my only outdoor Vikings experience before TCF Bank was at Arrowhead against the Chiefs in December 1999.  I made it to 3 games at TCF and loved the outdoor experience.  However, this game was something completely different.  Like BlackMagic7 stated above, this was a bucket list type of game for me.  I always wanted to get a feel for what those old games at the Met were like in December and January and this one definitely fit the bill.  I believe it was the 3rd coldest NFL game of all-time if I remember correctly.  I also remember the great atmosphere and partly because of their passion, but probably mostly because it was too cold to sit, everyone in the stadium stood for the entire game and the place was extremely loud.

Here's one of the few pics I took of the game.  We actually scalped our tickets outside the stadium before the game for $100/each and luckily our seats were on the sunny side of the field.

And yes, the FG post to the right is where the infamous FG was missed.  From our vantage point, the fans in our area actually cheered for a second or two because you couldn't really tell (or couldn't believe your eyes) that Walsh had missed it.

I was almost right above you in the upper bowl SF; maybe a little closer to the 10.

Everyone was standing. When we got to our spot, there were a few people kinda overhanging our seats. Our group of 4 had to sqeeze into our spots shoulder to shoulder until the row spread out a bit. Eventually we were standing over our proper seats, but its hard to see when everyone in front of you is standing. ... and its not like using the beer holders was a good idea either, lol....

I was wearing a ton of layers. We had a 12 block walk back to the car, I was melting under it after the walk. I spent a good minute without my jacket on at the car. Heres its one of the coldest days ever for a football game, and I am happy delayering at the car; standing in my snowpants and hoodie like "aaaaaaaaahhhh." Your pic reminded me of that.  ... hell I brought my ski goggles to the game, lol.

We couldnt really tell how bad he shanked the kick, let alone tell if he made it. In slow motion, the ball went "past" the uprights. As soon as I thought "what?! did he make it?!" I see frozen beer fly from the endzone seats; i think "no fucking way" ... people in the section still kinda cheering from the drive leading up. Some people cheering from thinking he made it.  ... the ref walks out and signaled 'no good.'  ... I didnt actually see how wide it really was until I drove back home.

I was opposite corner of stadium, corner end-zone, row 2, second deck. I saw it miss from the get go :(
