Not From The Onion
Louis Riddick - DB - Free Agent
The interview was first hinted at by NFL Network's Kimberly Jones, then confirmed by SNY's Ralph Vacchiano. Riddick, 48, played safety in the NFL and previously held front-office positions with the Eagles and Redskins, mainly working as a scout. His interview is expected to take place on Thursday. Riddick is one of the sharpest football analysts in media today. He is vying with in-house candidate Marc Ross and current presumed favorite Dave Gettleman for the job. Giants interim GM Kevin Abrams is expected to get a token interview at some point.
I expect Gettlemen gets the Giants GM job. But supposedly, Riddick may be a package deal with Josh McDaniel.
Riddick, who I used to like more than I do now as I started to listen to him recently, is a bit odd. He's said some weird shit.

Probably... and that's the problem with the "rule": if diminishes the accomplishments of minority coaches/front office personnel. One can easily say- because it is built into the "rule"- that they are being "given" opportunities that they have not earned. Whether that's true or not, that is the logical consequence of this stupid rule.
I don't get your point, BN. Riddick has been in a FO before. Actually twice. Hiring him wouldn't be remotely like hiring Lynch.
Gettleman would seem to be a slam dunk. He built a heck of a roster in Carolina, and doesn't need to learn the ropes.

Why hasn't he earned an interview? He has the resume for it. Do you have an example of someone that was just interviewed for the team to be in compliance of the rule?

Not seeing a great comparison here, bud.
