Bit of an oxymoron to me?
So Case is getting bailed-out by his WR's, arm-strength of Chad Pennington, end-result of the system...Be nice if the Vikings could give themselves the off-season with Keenum and Bridgewater both. 
In a QB starved league, that might prove difficult if not impossible. 
I circle back to enjoy the current ride for what it is and for as long as it lasts. Hopefully the Vikings get lucky and good when it comes to future QB decisions. 

Deeply flawed seemed unduly harsh...there's been plenty of QBs with below average arms who have fair well...honestly arm strength wouldn't crack the top ten traits for me...

really intersting.  especially the example of how Shurmur uses motion to see if D is in man or zone.  I hope we dont lose Shurmur —espically to the Bears.

Basically saying what we've been saying all along.  He's played really well but has gotten away with a lot in the process.  More or less than other QBs. .....maybe,  but poor ball location and weak arm scare the crap out of me.  He got little help today and that's what made the difference in the W/L column IMO.  He played good enough to win if bailed out,  but his mistakes clearly led to the loss as well.

The Vikings scored 24 points, missed a FG and probably should have scored more points but key drops, 1 INT hurt specifically and a defense that allowed so many yards on the ground killed them. Minnesota clawed back to tie the game at 24, but the offensive line was gutted yesterday. This could be a big problem for the remainder of the year.

Bottom line: Vikings play 2 of next 3 at home....you'd hope they can win those. Try to get a little healthier by the playoffs. I think Philly has a lock on the #1 NFC seed now as their remaining schedule is cake, even with Foles.

Another example of if you have enough film you can craft whatever story you want.  Kid is elusive and makes some great throws and some mistakes---they all do.

Today he was off a little---better now than the playoffs---gives shumur some film of his struggles to help iron out before the post season

Keenum was sacked 6 times yesterday.....the line was injury-plagued. And it was 24-24 with 4 minutes left in the game. I mean, this was on the road. Its a loss, but its not like they got waxed and looked like hot dog shit. 

Case isn't great, but the WRs didn't help him yesterday by dropping several balls they should've had. However, Case is a baller. The guy is a playmaker. He needs WRs to make plays and not have off days like yesterday, but he will make comebacks like yesterday. I still love Teddy and think he could do a ton with this team, but will support Case 100% as long as he is there, because not many other QBs could've lead that comeback yesterday. Although his ball-placement isn't great, our WRs and Rudy need to make those catches. Kai needs to make that kick. We should've won that game. Bradford would've been KILLED behind that OL yesterday. 6 sacks was pretty good with Collins and Hill as his 2 tackles for the majority of the game, with Berger, Easton, and Isidora playing the interior. Hell, that makes last years OL look solid. I liked the grass chunks on Case's facemask for most of the game... we were sooooo flat in the first half. Aside from trying to make that comeback, the game was sad.

Inaccurat, or at least inconsistent with accuracy. Arm strength forces Shurmer to take some of the deep shots out of his scheme. Tends to bird-dog his first read and miss wide open guys.

I'm O.K. with that last part. Case has been improving on going through his progressions, though he still looks like he hates taking checkdowns.

That can be coached up. The inaccuracy can't. When was the last time a QB with as many years as a Pro as Keenum does suddenly improved his accuracy? 

And obviously the arm is what it is. 

Folks keep proposing the idea that when Shurmer leaves (it's not an If) he'll want to take Case with him.

I think the opposite. Pat will go into interviews and say "Look what I did with this guy and think about what I could do with____."

Now maybe he asks Keenum to follow him as a Bridge to a 1st Round Pick. But that would be it.

As for the other guy he could be calling plays for right now...Teddy doesn't have that much stronger of an arm. So I don't think he allows Shurmer to open u the Playbook ala Bradford..

He is more willing to take the chechdown and not lock in on one receiver. That would certainly keep some drives going longer.

But does Bridgewater have that slippery pocket presence? He was good in the pocket before the injury, but not great like Case.  Would he help the Line look as good as it has or expose some underlying weaknesses? 

Since I don't know these answers Imma get into my Hot Tub Time Machine and see how fast Sloter develops.

FSU-I'm going to disagree a little on your comparison of Teddy, Case, and Bradford.  I think Teddy's arm is stronger than Case-not by a huge margin but enough so that his throws get there noticeably quicker and flatter than Case, though not to the degree of Bradford who there is little denying has the best arm talent.  As for pocket presence I do think Case is a better scrambler/improviser but I think Teddy was better at the finer points of 'in pocket' movements, he had a better feel for stepping up or sliding within the pocket, they both do a very good job of keeping their eyes downfield but I think Case improvises and goes a little more school yard(outside the system).  Bradford IMO was the worst of the three for pocket presence.

Minor points but I feel it's fairly accurate, I've been saying since before the season got going and Case took the reigns that this QB decision they face is ENORMOUS for the future of the franchise-I sure hope they make the right one.  I thought it was going to be between Bradford and Bridgewater, then Case came into the equation and Sam is almost out of it.

As our O line appears it is going to take some hits, pocket presence is going ro become even more important.
Its interesting to see the strengths and weaknesses of each of our Qbs and wonder how each will do with the current and near future circumstances.
I am very interested to see what our line is going to look like in two weeks.
