I didn't think Dejo should have been suspended and I didn't think this one should have been either. Two wrongs dont make a right... Rick should be pissed, but only for the inconsistency, not any thing done here.
Yet, Andrew Sendejo had a lesser hit and was suspended a game. Gronkowski took a clear dirty shot and gets one game. The bottom-line? If you are a big-market team or a star, you get favorable treatment. A virtual no-name? Throw the book at them to show how touch we are in the NFL.
I am SO in favor of having players sign waivers before they play to indicate that they understand the dangers of the game they ELECT to participate in, and they hold the NFL harmless and blameless for any injuries. Dirty shots should be fined or even cause suspensions sometimes, but we are sterilizing the game to such a degree, we won't recognize it in 5 years...if it is still around.
