OT: Caddyshack, Blazing Saddles or Young Frankenstein?
Caddyshack is one of my all-time favorites. I love Rodney Dangerfield :D
Caddyshack
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles a distant third
Caddyshack...."I think this club is restricted Wang, so don't tell them you're Jewish"
Blazing Saddles...."of course you'll have the decency, not to mention that I spoke to you"
Young Frankenstein...."Two nasty looking switches over here"
Caddyshack
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles
Caddyshack by far is the best of the three.
so what happens if we throw Animal House into the equation?
Animal House
Caddyshack
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles a distant fourth
"Fat, Drunk, and Stupid is no way to go through life son"

over rated.... as widely popular as it is how could it be over-rated?
I will give you Stripes as well, but not over Caddyshack or Animal House.
Animal House
Caddyshack
Stripes
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles a distant fourth fifth

i have Blazing Saddles ahead of YF, but only because I havent seen YF... I think I am bachelor tomorrow night so maybe I will see if its on amazon or netflix and determine if that changes my rankings.
Caddyshack
Stripes
Animal House
And Stripes would be closer to Caddyshack if the last crap was cut out of the movie.
Animal House
Caddyshack
Stripes
Young Frankenstein
Didnt' care for Blazing Saddles so much.

Caddyshack is very funny, as are the National Lampoon movies, but the genius of Mel Brooks and his ability to take on race relations, when "Blazing Saddles" was made, makes it a classic and is unique in comedy films. No way that movie is made today.Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
High Anxiety
Spaceballs

not really sure spaceballs fits in this conversation in terms of timeline... a decade is a long time, caddyshack barely fits with the rest.

Wait, you haven't seen YF yet? Dude...
Damn, I love all three...but:
1. Blazing Saddles. Very little makes me laugh harder than watching racists being shown as the asshats they are. "What's been happening in the clean world?"
2. Young Frankenstein. So classic, for so very many reasons. "What knockers!" "Oh, thank you doctor!"
3. Caddyshack. Only in last because one movie had to be. "I was born to rub you...but you were born to rub me first".

I included Spaceballs as just another example of Brooks' parody skills. But Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein are innovative genius.
