Rashod Hill looks like a viable starting candidate at RT in 2018
6'6", 315 lbs and only 25 years old. Those long arms and big body is ideally what you'd like at OT. Needs to improve in the run game. Remmers has played much better than I ever thought, I recognize that. Not trying to displace him this year. But the more reps that Hill gets, the better he plays. His upside is bigger than Remmers. Would love to see him push for the starting spot next season. Still working on things, but he's got very good potential. Needs to bump up the physicality.
Keep him focused on RT (He practiced at LT all week in London) and watch him flourish.
Shurmur has done a great job of putting these guys in a position to succeed...I really think that's the key...hopefully his HC stint in Cleveland has soured him to taking another crack at it...
Yes, he does. Add in Isadora and Aviante Collins and the Vikings look to have some young, quality depth for the first time in years. With Remmers contract in mind, I'd hold off on handing Hill the starting job, but it sure is nice knowing he's there. He's signed through next season. At that point we'll have to decide between the two.
Rashod Hill was a hell of a find. In my best, most exaggerated dream I didn't think we'd have a line like this a year after probably the worst line we'd ever had in decades. I just hope we keep drafting linemen for depth as well.
I thought he played pretty well at LT, too. Do we need to keep him at only one spot? Only if we intend on making him a long-term starter. Then again, with Remmer's age... maybe the spot will be Hill's next year.

Hill, Remmers, Elflein, Easton and Reiff. Not a bad line-up.
They better keep Hill at RT, don't want to mess with the OL chemistry while the team is winning. :p

I am betting that Isidora will be in the starting 5 by next year. or maybe Sirles... B)
i am giddy with the line play this year. the least busy person in the org is prolly the person in charge of laundering QB jerseys

On Sunday, Kerrigan was a ghost against backup tackle Rashod Hill. According to Pro Football Focus tracking stats, Hill allowed zero quarterback pressures.

I can't like this enough.
Never in a million years did I think the line would have the success that they've had so far this season. (knocks on wood)
Easton goes down and Sirles steps in and we keep going. Sirles goes down and a rookie, Isidora, steps in and we keep going. Reiff misses some time and Hill steps in and we keep going. Then Hill moves to the right side for Remmers and we keep going. That's huge.
Also, Bradford goes down and Case steps in. And Cook goes down and Murray and Jet step in. Injuries to key positions have not stopped this team.
By contrast, Rodgers goes down and the Packers immediately fold. Too bad.
It's nice to have a decent line with good backups. Thinking back on last year it was a nightmare. We still lost a QB and running back this year. But we're getting by.

Then you have the 25 year old Hill who has looked solid at both Tackle positions and he is signed through next season for about $600,000..what a deal.
We look to have 3 starting above average Tackles right now, who knew when we had zero last year!
But these decisions are a year and a half away and who knows what can happen.
What I can say with decent certainty is that none of the guys who play Tackle well are ever going to want to move to Guard for monetary and contractual reasons. Tackles are becoming as hard to find as QB's. Saying that, maybe Remmers/Hill will be great trade bait next year with the non traded being our starter??? Might be something we use on draft day to move up for a QB. Hill would be super attractive as trade bait with a 600K 1 year contract.
Anyway, I see the Sirles, Isodora, free agent, draft pick as the replacement for Berger at Guard not a move of a Tackle - IMO
Berger previously said this was his last year (I think). Either way, he's a FA after the season.
Is Sirles a FA in '18? If so, it might not make sense to re-sign him.
You always want your top 5 on the field. So maybe for 2018 it's more like Hill at OT vs. Isodora at OG? Either way, Remmers is one of your best 5 and he plays.

why wouldnt you resign Sirles? He was primary back up at both Guard spots and can kick out to T if need be as well. Thats pretty good versatility IMO.
