Packers Waive TE Martellus Bennett
Failure to disclose? Hmm... wonder if they can get some of that contract money back.
Martellus Bennett disputes Packers’ claim of failure to disclose conditionIt was a surprise when the Packers released tight end Martellus Bennett. It was a big surprise when the Packers contended that he failed to disclose a medical condition.
To no surprise, Bennett disputes that he hid anything from the team.
Bennett practiced throughout the offseason and training camp, and he appeared in seven regular-season games. Only after he expressed an intention to retire following the season did his shoulder become an issue. Whether it became an issue for Bennett or the team or both is irrelevant; it wasn’t an issue before that.
That's interesting context.
Oh and your signature fits perfectly =)
Mysterious injuries popping up now that the season is in the toilet. The Bennett brothers are real pieces of work. But I hope this blows up in the teams face as well.
Good player.
If he can play, get him for back half of season?
It would soothe my butthurt over Bucky.
And he could help us pound GB.
I could see him back in Chicago to take Zach Miller's place
I hate the Packers so I am glad it is a dumpster fire over there.
Martellus Bennett - TE - Free AgentESPN Boston views the Patriots as a potential fit for free agent TE Martellus Bennett.
Bennett had a career-high seven touchdowns with New England last year. The Patriots have struggled in the red-zone and could have interest in bringing him back. With Dwayne Allen not doing much behind Rob Gronkowski, Bennett could provide an upgrade in two-tight end sets. Bennett has only $724K remaining on his 2017 salary, so his contract shouldn't be an issue.
The Vikings may put a claim in on him, he'd be an upgrade over Bell. Only $724K left on the contract this year is extremely team friendly. Plus if he does intend to retire after the season his remaining contract would move to the retired/reserve list.
Didn't he drop the pass from Rodgers on the play where Barr ended the Packers' season? He had Kendricks beat for the first down; Rodgers gets him the ball; then he drops it. That made me laugh. And so ended the Packers' 2017 season.

it will be like when the Vikings signed that former packer TE that botched the onside recovery in the playoffs the year before.
guy is a POS just like his brother
hope we dont consider him at all
Patriots claim TE Martellus Bennett on waivers

- Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports
The Packers released Bennett claiming the tight end failed to disclose a medical condition, which Bennett denies. Bennett was looking for ways to leave the Packers once Aaron Rodgers suffered a broken collar bone and now he is reunited with the Patriots where he won Super Bowl LI as the starting tight end.
The Patriots were 30th in the waiver order, which means that 29 other teams passed on Bennett and his veteran’s minimum contract. It is unknown if the New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles placed a claim on Bennett.

one lied about a police encounter, the other exacerbated it by crying about his brothers interaction. when video evidence was released neither was held accountable for their incinderary representation of their event. Nor did they themselves admit their potential mistake, which further proved they didnt care about lying if it push a false narrative forward that exists right now.they added fuel to real issue in this country, similar the recent events Air Force Academy, that truly detracts from actual injustices.
addtional reason: watch an interview with either one of them. for example recently Doug Baldwin (who represented himself well, even if i dont 100% agree with him) and Michael Bennent were on a national news panel/special. it solidified my view of Michael

Martellus Bennett - TE - Patriots
Claimed off waivers by New England on Thursday, Bennett was let go by the Packers with a failure to disclose medical condition designation. Word out of Green Bay is that Bennett also may have forced his way out of town following the Aaron Rodgers injury and subsequent downward spiral of the team. It's understandable for a 30-year-old who said he's retiring after the season. Bennett has always been one to play through injury, so this one likely won't be any different.
