agreed but its part of Z’s philosophy.  we will trade you points for clock.  i am hoping to see that change just for that fact that championship Defenses stop teams no matter the situation. Z is playing the percentages

I dont really care,  i have never seen a stat in a trophy case.  as long as they are winning the games I could care less how many garbage time yards and points we surrender. ( I dont like seeing the team go into a shell early though)  anytime a team is within 2 scores IMO we need to keep the foot on the gas.

Grading a defense by total yards allowed has always been crazy to me. It completely disregards game-flow and real in-game situations. The Vikings defense philosophy under Zimmer has been to bend but not break. They're fine giving up yardage between the 20's but really clamp down in the red zone. 

What is significant is how many yards you're giving up per play and your opponents 3rd down conversion %. The Vikings are ranked 2nd and 1st respectively in those categories.
