Crap, look at the sacks that Stafford has taken.  And they let Reiff walk?

Case had played damn good, there is no questioning that.  i dont envy Zimmer’s decision, but i trust him and his staff to make the right call.

I personally want Bridgewater to go back in if hes’s ready to play, the reason being that he is a proven winner,  Gump, and Case has been winning but with strong tailwinds.  tough tough call.  the funniest thing is, that Bradford might be the best QB on our roster if healthy

Did I read somewhere that Riley Reiff hasn't allowed a sack yet this season? He's my most surprising Viking so far. I guess Remmers and Berger are really good friends.

Yea that stat jumps out at you and think they made Wagner the highest paid RT and paid him LT money, let Reiff walk, and signed TJ Lang who's cap hit is 11 million dollar for a Guard.  All that and they can't run the ball either.

We have to beat the Lions next time the last 3 times we played them we handed them close games.  I will say the Lions defense is much improved over the last few years.

Thanks Detroit. I really appreciate the job Riley is doing.

Yes, I read that as well.  What a welcome tidbit that is.  Was nervous with the amount of money he got, but then again what do I care.  And now he is like a revaluation to our o-line.  quite leadership, work ethic and solid play.

As well as Case has played, he has left a ton of yards on the field and missed many wide open WRs because he plays a lot like our old #7 by focusing on presnap reads, but he can reopen up on the run. However, he isn't the most accurate.

Other then the stat of Stafford sacks I am surprised by each of these guys yards per attempt.  Well I am most surprised by Carr for being so low because of all the vertical weapons he has and a very good offensive line.

Some folks discounted Bradford's completion last year of nearly 72% and we all know that was OL related and yet these guys per attempt are lower then what Sam ended up last year.

Stafford is the highest paid player in the NFL and is not a winner.  But we have handed them the last 3 games so we need to turn that tide.  But the fact that the Lions threw that much money at Stafford hurts the rest of the roster - he is not Tom Brady, Rodgers, Bree's material - IMO.

Carr is not having a very good year so far.

I thought Detroit determined he was a better RT than left? That's what made me nervous about signing him up as LT.

My understanding of how things fell for Reiff was that the LT fell into their laps so they drafted him and moved Riley to RT.  Can't remember the LT's name but he got hurt in preseason.

My understanding from the Detroit perspective was that Reiff wanted to play LT and thought he would get the chance (and the money on the Free agent market) and he was right.  The Lions did not want to have to pay Riley LT money to play RT.

Funny thing both us and the Lions were then in hot pursuit of Wagner to play RT with the Lions throwing top money at him - he is the highest paid RT in the NFL.  This a year after paying a small fortune for TJ Lang who is making 11 million as Guard which is also one of the highest.  The lions OL has been bad this year even with all the high priced free agents but the loss of the LT set it all in motion.

In the meantime, we needed both a RT and LT and Riley was a main target along with Wagner to the best of my knowledge.  We were outbid on Wagner and saved a ton by going with Remmers.  Remmers is playing RT almost as well as Riley is playing LT.  Then we used the draft to find interior help.

To me, Spelly gets a kuddos on personnel, Sparano on coaching and Shurmur on scheme - all three working together just like the OL.

I am really glad this line has come together I was honestly sceptical that it would.  Reiff and remembers are FA gems.  Isadora is a draft steal so far and Hill looks like a really good swing tackle.  This team finally is evalutating offensive linemen with some success after years of drafting and signing busts.  I wonder what changed?

The bye week could not have come at a better spot in the season exactly in the middle of the schedule and our O-line needs to get healthy for the run at the playoffs.

Not only that, but he's only given up something like 5 pressures...

Lions losing Taylor Decker really hurt them...

Its a travesty how the Lion's organization has allowed a talent like Stafford to get hit and sacked so often. Criminal. Yes, he will hold it a bit long at times to extend plays, but ultimately, he's played behind just shitty offensive lines.

Well, don't forget they lost Taylor Decker, their starting LT.

Crazy how Carr was made a king this offseason, now he is barely heard about. The truth about him comes out. The guy can only play with a clean pocket. Now that he is being pressured a bit he is falling apart. He is very good when he has 5 sec to throw - but so would so many QBs with a great arm a full roster of talented WRs.
A QB needs to be able to handle pressure... Like Case has been doing so well but like Teddy also excels at.

And don't forget about the rookie center Elflein either.  He might be playing the best out of all the o-linemen this year, which is saying something.

I think Carr and Stafford have a lot in common in terms of skill-set.  Both can move in the pocket but yet neither senses pressure or escapes very well.  Stafford has been sacked a lot and that is due to a poor OL, run game but part of that is on him as well.  He does hold the ball and does not sense pressure well.

Carr actually seems to panic under pressure.  The Raiders were very fortunate to win that game two weeks ago (very poor officiating that handed them the game) otherwise they would be 2-6.  Carr has the skill players to just toss it up and hope his WR comes down with it and he does that in double coverage a lot.  He is fortunate he doesn't have about 3 or 4 more Int's to his stat line.  Both can fling it and will and both are known for putting up huge fantasy stats and not necessarily winning football.  But surprising for guys that can fling the ball they are both around 7 yards per attempt which is very average to low for starting QB's.

I was just surprised by how closely our backup QB's stats are compared to both Carr and Stafford.  Of course we have more wins which is all that really matters.  We can't hand the Lions a 4th victory next time!

Stafford has escaped pretty damn well the last 3 times he's faced the Vikings...his legs have done as much damage as Zimmer's clock management and Prevent Defense.

Zim's prevent really needs to go. Its the one thing that still is hurting us. He has gotten a lot better at clock mgt. on O, but is prevent on D is awful. With how good our D is, just stay in attack mode!!!!
