SUPPORT FOR SENDEJO
Safety Harrison Smith was one of at least five Minnesota this week to wear homemade T-shirts that read “#FREEDEJO” in support of Andrew Sendejo. The safety was suspended for one game for a hit Sunday that left Baltimore wide receiver Mike Wallace with a concussion, and Sendejo didn’t travel to London.
“I wasn’t a fan of it,’’ Smith said of the suspension. “It’s not for me to say (if it was fair), but I’m always going to be on Dejo’s side.’’
Smith has kept in touch with Sendejo since the suspension was announced Monday.
“He’s one of my good buddies off the field as well,’’ Smith said. “You hate to see one of your buddies get suspended. I’m just making sure he’s good and ready to go when he comes back.’’
Anthony Harris is expected to replace Sendejo in the lineup.

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
I'm torn on this. On one hand, I think the angle of the camera and how Wallace went down made it look worse than it was. On the other, how many plays have we see him come barreling in head first going for that KO shot? Heck, even doing collateral damage from time to time. So my question is, if he isn't known for going for big hits does this draw as much scrutiny?

Vontaze Burfict, of the same day, kicked a steelers player in the face with both cleats and got nothing from the league. This was a football play that only marginally could be called a penalty let alone worthy of a suspension....this is fricking bull shit.

His reputation and previous fines played into the suspension. Unlike some, I didn’t think the hit was as brutal as they said. I also think the NFL is just covering their ass. So when a lawsuit is filed in the future they can say they were being proactive.

It's utter crap that nothing happened to Burfict for that kick to the face. He definitely has a reputation for dirty play. He got a break on that one.

look at Dix in that bear packer game.... he killed a bears player early in the game... nothing, Travethon (of what ever) returns the favor later in the game... holy shit its like who shot JR of the sports world for the next week. The steelers and bengals rivalry.... the steelers (not just harrison either, that shazir is a cheap fucker also) players take plenty of liberties on bengals.. nothing, the bengals play the same game and its cheap and dirty. I am sure there are other examples but we all know it happens and its getting fricking old IMO>

Sendejo is playing in the NFL for one reason; he's a hitter. He's nothing great in coverage, but he's a fearless, instinctive hitter against the run or pass.
I do think he's a smarter player these past couple of years now that Zim has had him, but his reputation for big hits has earned him the roster spot, IMO.
