Aaron Rodgers: Vikings' Barr made obscene gestures after knockout play

Rodgers wasn’t happy about the play when it happened, yelling some choice words at Barr as he went off the field. Packers coach Mike McCarthy called the play “totally unnecessary.” Barr later defended himself, saying he’s not a dirty player.

If you hoped those various news cycles were enough to cover the play, you were wrong. Rodgers was on with Conan O’Brien on Thursday, and the TV host asked Rodgers about the play.
Rodgers described what happened and then said “the cameras caught me saying something to him,” but they missed what Barr was doing back to him: giving the QB, according to Rodgers, a pair of obscene gestures.
Rodgers was kind of smiling as he retold the story, and he added, “There’s no respect anymore in this business.”

Check at the 54 to 57 second mark.  No middle finger, maybe a shake of the fist, seemed more like it was a damn he got the ball out gesture more so than a middle finger or a taunt.

When I first read about his comment on Conan, it reads like a very dry joke. Conan quite often will say something asinine in a matter of fact type delivery as the joke.  When Rodgers added in the "suck it" sign, I wondered if the media took it a little too seriously...

... still haven't seen the Conan segment though, so maybe not...

@"Wetlander" said: There was a rumor going around that Barr did the Discount Double Check towards Rodgers after the hit...  I would love it if that were true.  LMAO BOOM

I heard or read this rumor too.  I must be slow but I didn't even know what the double check was.  When I looked into it, I realized that other players have mocked Rodgers too using his "double check motion".

Years ago I would of thought Rodgers was trying to do a mild form of the pelvic hip thrust when he scored which I think would be insulting.  JMO

That isn't the timeframe he was referring to. Rodgers was kissing his own ass at that point and couldn't have seen that.  The 39 mark is when he starts barking at Barr.

He has a lot of frustration in his personal life I bet.

BTW the Vikings are the number one rival to Rodgers and the Packers.  He hates playing us and loves when he beats us.

Its his way of getting the last word in on this. National exposure in slamming Barr. Sympathy. Who's going to refute it, its just him talking on late night TV? Perfect setup to solidify to those that don't know better that Barr dirty shotted him.

Maybe for this window of time and the s hit that went down with Barr. But it's always going to be the Bears as their #1 rival. The Pack are certainly our #1 rival though.  Just look at the nerve this thread hit lol!

I hope this is one of those rare season where we sweep em...

I think Barr hit him late, didnt staple him to the ground like a DL might have. Just wasnt "penalty late"

The excess hand-wringing about Rodgers getting hurt, especially remarks about it (and injuries to Beckham, Watt, others) "being detrimental to the game", makes me fear the NFL will eventually institute kayfabe, maybe secretly. Pro wrestling came out of carnival "catch" wrestling in the early 1900s, and a big reason they started faking the matches was because too many star wrestlers were getting hurt, sometimes crippled.

His idea of respect is everyone kissing his ass and stroking his ego. There is no doubt he can play. That's not the question here. But here he is pissing and moaning, playing it up for sympathy and for what? More attention. Injuries happen. It's football. He doesn't like it, he can take his ball and go home. Sick and tired of how babied he is. It's nauseating. Beckham and Watt didn't whine about their injuries.

Good for him for calling the prima donna out. At least Farve didn't whine incessantly.

Still think farve is a better QB  If brett played his whole career in the no touch Qb era he'd put up even more scary numbers.  There is  holds on every one of the hail mary finishes but thre refs ignore them cause it feeds the narrative of the nfl.

I am so sick of this non story. They were playing football, and Barr' s tackle was completely normal. Rodgers is such a friggen whiner. No class there.
