Sorry if already posted -- but this sounds really bad. I broke my collar bone when I was a kid and no screws. So did my sister. I've never heard of such a thing. Did it just shatter?
Clay Matthews has more screws than that in one sheep in one week!

If he has any smarts, he should just chalk this up to "shit happens" and take a seat until 2018. Let that thing heal for an extra long time.

I think that's exactly what he'll do if the Packers are out of it by early December.

You know Barr is looking to break his other one when he comes back.
I think they should just put him down...it's the humane thing to do...

Or you know... maybe not.
"Reached via text message Thursday morning, Rodgers wouldn't say exactly how many screws were surgically inserted into the collarbone, joking, "It's TV. Sometimes you exaggerate. And then sometimes, you tell the truth."

Translation: "I'm a douchebag"
Collarbone fractures can heal on their own with a sling and rest if the bone isn't displaced (the ends of the break are close together).
If the fracture is significantly displaced or the bone has multiple breaks, then the fracture is surgically realigned and a plate is used to stabilize it during the healing process. Plates can sometimes require as few as four screws to hold them to the bone but, depending on the size of the plate, sometimes a lot of screws are needed.
Lance Armstrong needed 12 screws to hold the plate when he broke his collarbone a few years back. If Rodgers needed 13 screws, then he "done broke it good".
