Seattle at Denver tonight on Prime....
Now is the time we need to start rooting against any NFC team that plays an AFC team. I'm dubious that Bo Nix is going to pull it off tonight against a Seattle team that needs a win to keep pace in the NFC West, but it is in Denver so 🤞. A little bye week help tonight and for the weekend would be nice.

Oh geez, forgot about that. I guess tonight's downtown plans are off. But go Broncos! And if I remember right, the last time I said that was when the Broncos played the Packers in the Super Bowl.

Well, Nix didn't do crap....but the D took care of Uncle Sammy, hitting him 17 times and got two INTs. Seattle 3-3. Horrible OT pick by Darnold. 👀
Ryan Fitzpatrick just went on a rant ripping #Broncos QB Bo Nix:

“Bo Nix is not playing competitively. It’s almost disrespectful to the quarterback position how he’s playing football.”

To be fair, letting K9 go was a huge mistake.

I've said it plenty of times, but I'll say it again: I don't believe Bo Nix is a good NFL QB. I think Sean Payton recognized his limitations early and built an offense around what Nix could do. Get him outside the pocket, emphasize short-to-intermediate throws, use his legs, and simplify the reads. After watching him struggle with basic accuracy on throws downfield early in his rookie season, Payton had to find a way to make it work. And after the investment Denver made in drafting him, he had every reason to try. I couldn't be happier to see that offense struggling while Payton is still calling the shots. 😂
As for Darnold, Seattle caught lightning in a bottle last year and rode it all the way to a Super Bowl. But one successful season doesn't mean a QB's weaknesses have disappeared. Injuries are real, and since returning, Darnold hasn't looked like the same QB. Some of those ghosts that showed up during his two games against Detroit and two against the Rams in Minnesota seem to be creeping back in Seattle. The running game also isn't providing the same threat it did last year, putting more pressure on Darnold to carry the offense as he works his way back.
That's the thing about the NFL: a great season doesn't automatically mean you've permanently solved a QB's issues. Sometimes the supporting cast, scheme, and circumstances are doing more of the heavy lifting than people want to admit. And when those things change, we find out a lot more about the quarterback himself.

And they still won. And we thought some of our games this season were bad offensively...haha

Up here in Washington, I've caught a LOT of "...dumbasses letting us have Sam..." flak, and I've largely shrugged it off. I just reply that the Seahags were ready, with their whole team, to make their run last year. Sam was more than good enough to keep from wrecking the season, and had "new team" energy along with a big new contract to buoy him along.
That said, it was more about the rushing offense and the defense than it was about Sam. Also, as others have noted, he'd have gotten killed behind our o-line last season.
Last night, we saw something that reminded me of Sam against Detroit, and against the Rams: the OTHER Sam, with elements of the kid who was an NFL pass-around and who can melt right down.
I will be reminding the local despondent "12s" all weekend... 😁
Teasley...KOC...WTF were you thinking...?!
