“O’Connell will hunt for explosive plays downfield, but the offense leaned on the run game and the play-action passing attack in camp. That led to quicker throws and YAC.”

Unfortunately, wait until the losses come (if they come) and then see how active the board gets. Its been like a morgue in here all week, pretty weird for Game 1. My guess is long timers are a little burnt out over a long summer of clickbait, QB comp takes, not sure about K1, maybe a failed drafted QB we had some excitement for, a little disillusioned with the org, etc. Probably more wait and see then most years in the past. Wins should perk most fans up, hopefully that happens. But if it doesn't, some deserved criticism will rain down...but honestly now isn't the time for that. This is hopeful season, especially with GB coming to town. Isn't this why we wait all offseason? 🤔
Distilled point: a win against GB and I'm sure most will be back and chatty. Maybe the ol' adage if someone has nothing good to say, they'll say nothing at all could be at play until we see some games live. I don't blame anyone for that. Hard to buy into Murray 100% at this particular point. Some might be its just more of the same. Just guessing on my part.
It's been a madhouse of an offseason, with no shortage of things to ponder, discuss and fight about. It seems like a decade ago now, but we fired our GM this offseason. We have a new GM, a new starting QB and a lot of unanswered questions. Can Kyler be this year's Darnold? Can Dallas Turner be the next Micah Parsons? Can Flores do it again? Until we see something on the field, there's not much to be said that hasn't already been said. People's heads are swimming. I know mine is.
What's more, while every opener is important, this one seems especially critical. Frankly, I'm a little nervous. Key divisional game against our biggest rival, and we do not want to go into Chicago 0-1. We're debuting a new QB, in a modified offense we haven't really seen before. People want to believe, but at the end of the day, they're still Viking fans. They will proceed cautiously.

That pretty accurately captures where my head is at too...let's just play the games already. I dont think I can stomach one more article on Yac, Nintendo or wide zone runs.
I think it's going to take Murray and the offense time to gel, brand new everything for him. He's got new habits to make and old ones to break. Running the ball efficiently would really help things out, especially early on.
It'll be over-reaction on steroids wk1...Fans who are ready to crucify KOC or those waiting for K1 to fail? All quiet for now, but will make the internet lively if Vikings lose fugly on Sunday. Then the flip-side of a good win too lol!
I never bet my own $$ Wk1, its too full of surprises, dont need anything but good Sunday - especially (as you say) on the road at Soldier Field next week.
Chi/Gb first two games is a difficult draw.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

325 start, I probably wont be getting home till close to 8 that night.
Vikings/Pack are historically a good game and good ratings draw too. Not surprised they are the National CBS Game opening week.
Especially with K1 debuting.

I have the Ticket so it doesn't matter to me, but damn, my Denver neighbors get saddled with Cards at Chargers? Yuck.

If we have a legit QB next season, I'm back on The Ticket.

I’m definitely burnt out. Also doing a bit of an internet detox. Might just extend that into a longer term hiatus. Fantasy draft was last night and I was kinda going through the motions until I got sniped a couple times 🤬

I think we’re better than GB but the potential to Vikings things up is always lurking and it’ll probably be a close game. Love is solid at the quick hitter, chain mover passes and between Kraft and the WRs, they are well-suited to counter our blitzing. My hope is that their patchwork OL gets confused or beaten enough times that we can force negative plays that way, without Flores having to dig too deep into his bag of tricks.
Aside- Wasn’t it Week 1 @ GB when Daniel Carlson caught the yips and Zim freaked out and cut him the next day? Hey Thorson don’t shank any punts on Sunday, buddy. Packer week is not the week! 😂😭
It wasnt week 1, but it was the packers
The interior of the #Packers’ offensive line is the weak link in their offense, and it will be tested immediately against the Brian Flores-led Vikings defensive attack in Week 1.

How'd you do? Had mine last night too. Some presumably drunk fuckwit kept mis-keying his bids. I really wanted Nabers at his AAV of $28 and Price at $11. For BOTH of these players, the same assclown entered bids WAY over AAV. Sucks more for him because he blew his budget, but it totally screwed my plans too.

Welp.....😑
#Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell says the backup QB will be a “week to week thing” but Carson Wentz will be the QB 2 behind Kyler Murray in week 1, with JJ McCarthy being the emergency QB 3:

Definitely in "wait and see" mode over here. I think this week's game is going to be low scoring. 17-14, 20-17 type game. I think Flo's d is going to create problems for GB and I don't think our offense is going to look very good. Big field goal and running game type of game. Kyler will make a few plays with his legs but will ultimately finish under 225 passing yards (probably under 200).
If we win , it's on the defense and Will's leg.
