Is this the least you’ve been excited for a season?
….. at least in recent memory???
Maybe it’s preseason that resembled wet dog shit. Maybe it’s the litany of question marks that surround Kyler Murray. Maybe it’s the questions surrounding how good of a coach KOC actually is. Maybe it’s just me…
But this is the least amount of hype I’ve EVER had going into a season…and that’s including Darnold’s year (and I thought Sam was a fucking joke). I mean I’m gonna watch the games, but I have less than zero faith in K1. And this team will only go as far as he takes them. Therefore I have almost no faith in this offense.
I think the defense is good enough that they’ll be in every game this year regardless of opponent, but I don’t know if the offense can keep up their end of the bargain unless Kyler (by some miracle) can regain his form from more than half a decade ago. I hope I’m wrong.
I could make a case for Kyler going off for 4 total TD and beating Green Bay’s ass in week one. I could also make an equally compelling case for him throwing 3 picks and being an absolute disaster. I’m more dreading the game than I am excited for it.
Probably just Florio doing Florio things, but I wish there were reports of Kyler being the first in the building and last to leave
How about we wait until Kyler screws up before we go trying to find reasons to dislike him?

Sorry dude. I’ve NEVER liked Kyler.
I’m waiting for him to show me reasons TO like him

Fairly or not, Murray has a narrative about him that he doesn't work hard. Some fans want to brush it off, others don't. Like I said, I don't know if its fair or not, but to say it isn't there isn't being truthful. He's kept a low profile since being in Minnesota as far as pressers, etc. He'll never get a better set up than he has now in Minnesota, so its up to him. The coaches have said he's picked up the offense incredibly fast, in fact impressively so. That takes dedication at a minimum. Teasley mentioned he's starting to 'take control of the line of scrimmage' which means he's getting comfortable. A good sign.
We can all have opinions and preconceived notions, but he should have a clean slate until proven otherwise with the new team and opportunity. From what I've read, he wants to prove something....and for a top tier athlete, that can be special potentially. I'm not telling you to not be skeptical, I think many are 'lets see it' first. But also you can't deny the upside.
Actually this is the most excited I've been since we inked sam. I knew jj wasn't an NFL QB I was depressed with him.

One i bet you didn't know he has the same career passer rating as Matt Stafford, and his comp percentage is higher. He's been stuck with the worst franchise in the league. He's going to be great.

Also in a contract year. The difference between a mid year and a good year is probably $60-80M for him

I agree with this and its not just hopium. 4 season barely missing 4K passing and all had 20+ TD's with a TERRIBLE Oline and sub par supporting crew beyond Mcbride & Deandre. He had Old Fitz and constantly hurt Connor.
He is in a COMPLETELY different org now with weapons all around him and potentially a top 10 D and a top 10 OL.
AZ's Defense was putrid also so he was always having to try to come from behind. Just look at the last 4 years of AZ's Defensive rankings.
2025: 29th in points allowed (28.7 PPG), 26th in total defense
2024: 23rd in points allowed, lower-half in total yards
2023: 32nd in points allowed (flat defensive struggles under the rebuilding phase)
2022: 31st in points allowed
Our D is going to be giving him the ball back all the time being ahead or close. Not being 2 + TD's down and now he has to make miracles happen and the run game isnt an option.
He is in a COMPLETELY different org and he IS going to excel. I would not shocked in the least to see Top 10 QB #'s out of him if he stays healthy.

I have never been a fan either, but I am willing to see what we have. I wasn't a fan of uncle Sammy either, but that was a pretty exciting season. There is much more to this team than just the QB. If Murray can get the ball to Jefferson and the others, our o-line can finally live up to the moving company name.
And there is always the D, fun as hell to watch. That game against Detroit last year was as good as it gets despite the offense being limited to 1 jet sweep.
We get anything close to this and faces will melt.

He'll prove he can operate in another style of offense, opening more doors for him around the NFL. Drafting Vikings in fantasy football might just help you win your league this year.

I'm quite high on this Vikings offense, and the core pieces can all be drafted at very reasonable prices.

I sure hope you’re right.
Again…not holding my breath
Being a lifelong Vikings fan, I will always be there to watch. I have learned to be guardedly cautious. But because I bleed purple, I don't care about being pumped for any given season. I am level-headed and will watch each game play out during the season.
I have learned the hard way that being super-pumped for the start of any given season is a fools errand.
Please God, just one Lombardi before I die.
always excited to watch Vikings football, also excited to see Kyler serve crow for most Vikings fans (most didn't want him) as he outplays the '25 QBs
People sleep peacably at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
I'm less hyped than average, maybe, but more than I was during the Frazier and much of the Zimmer period. I'd say I'm very curious: can KOC continue his "QB whisperer" reputation after last season? Can the o-line finally shake its era of doldrums and get nasty in the trenches? Can the secondary cash the checks Flores is writing? Is lefse with honey butter and raspberry jam as good as it sounds? Which version of...hell, any of our QBs that play...are we getting? Do men actually drink White Claws? Why? Will our team survive Mexico's water?
Stay tuned....
Getting close to Vikings Football time...!!!
Kyler Murray is the latest entrant in the Vikings' tragicomic QB turnstile. He'll likely be the 18th different QB to lead them in passing in a season during the NFL's free agent era. But *often* "magic" happens when veteran QBs put on the purple helmet. https://t.co/pT2hZnzwpR

this is why the JJM experience (so far) has been hard for me to take as a fan...
I was SO HOPING this was going to end this ridiculous QB cycle.
One this franchise has had at QB for the better part of decades.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!
