If JJM can’t develop touch he will be out of the league after his rookie contract. Dude just fires fastballs every pass. He has GOT to learn to throw with touch.

Is this thing STILL on?

Use that information as you will.

Just find a Jerry Jones or equivalent to hold up the other end of the deal.

And, he’s dinged again. KO wanted another series for him but he’s dinged yet again.

This is the time for more patience imo. We’re not asking him to start, at least yet. Selling low just doesn’t sit right. We’ve got him on rook contract and K1 for peanuts. We’re good for at least now..don’t have to force anything

There were some TV pictures at the end of the 2nd quarter with Wentz talking with Brosmer, Kyler was next/near them. As it panned out JJ was no where near. Watched for him in the 2nd half and didn't catch any. I'm probably reading to much into it, I'm disappointed the way things are going. I hope it works out, but my perception is it could get real toxic. Murray is no cheerleader but at least he's in the picture.

I think we're all going on this journey with JJM like we're watching a movie and the entire thing should be done in like 2 hours of game time. I think he needs some time to hit rock bottom, sit in his feelings for a bit, and work his way out. Meanwhile, we see 7 more passes and are like, "I'm totally over him now, why isn't everything different? It's been a month already."

Hopefully, he'll get some time where he can develop, in the building, and out of the spotlight for a bit.

Worst possible scenario is Murray getting injured in like week 2.

I saw that shot too, and it was of the bench which is where I saw Kyler the most. I saw JJM front row sidelines on several plays where they showed the Vikings sideline.

Which is why I think Wentz should be the #2, JJM isn't ready and needs more time in the incubator.

In the end, KOC needs to do what's best for the team. If that's Wentz at QB2, then that needs to happen. As I mentioned, I don't put any stock in preseason but there are plays where players can look bad or good and JJ is still not accurate. That's Job 1 for that spot, its the first thing coaches mention about the top quality. We're at the point where we're either expecting something bad or wringing our hands watching the kid play football, he's inconsistent. Inaccurate and inconsistent is a rough place to live for JJ. I guess precarious is a better term.

So ask yourself: does JJ FEEL like the future QB of this team?

Not crying any tears for KO because his hands aren’t clean in any of this, but JJ McCarthy’s devolution into Josh Freeman will be studied 🫠.

Where to go from here with him, I don’t know. I thought he’d play well yesterday then be immediately traded. Now who knows if that’s even on the table. Keep him and pray for a miracle would be my strategy I think.

Honestly I'm not even thinking that way about him right now...

I ask my fan self:

Can he play in the NFL well? Consistently?

Should he be next man up?

I dont want to trade him low so there is a level of patience needed.

I repeat that he needs to get off the radar and re-group himself.

It's been a bad couple weeks for him and I wonder if losing the QB competition is messing with his head?

Sadly, if the kid had stayed healthy and played well the last 2 years? He'd own this town right now...

I think the question is not can he develop touch, but is he even willing to try. It is his 3rd full camp with KOC and throwing the ball with touch has been something they have been working with him since day 1. The fact that it is camp 3 and he is showing absolutely no improvement, makes me think of his interview where he laughed about KOC telling him not to dance into the end zone made him want to do it more. Seems like he is just going to do things his way regardless of what anyone else says. Has the tools, but way too immature.

Continuing to blame the coach for the performance of a QB who was hurt for, or got hurt in, 29 of 34 possible games is just a little ridiculous.

Murray talked to the Punter..... But I agree, he is always cheering his teammates on

I'm not "blaming" KO for McCarthy's bad play so I'm not sure where you got that, but I'm not absolving him for McCarthy's lack of skill growth either. Both would be wrong.
