I think the NFL has its fingers crossed that Jaxson Dart takes off.....that oh so valuable New York TV market they always cater to.

This is the organized Vikings group ticket plan for the Saints game if it indeed falls on Sunday Oct 11th. There is a headcount for the tickets, so if interested sign up. Once he gets the cost, he will update. He did it for the Tampa game too. I know he is attending the Mexico game, so there might be something for that in the future as well.

Whenever I go to New Orleans I try to organize a cooking class with the New Orleans School of Cooking. I would like to schedule something specifically for Vikings fans on Saturday morning, early afternoon if I can hit their minimum # for the class. If interested, let me know. I will eventually setup an event page for it on Facebook. I'm on vacation right now and back on the 24th.

Echoing in my 9 year old ears. Man, I hated Stram for a long time.

I was 9 years old and I hated Stram. I had no idea what "matriculating the ball down the field" meant, but he just seemed so smug and arrogant. And if I'm not mistaken, that was the only SB where we were favored to win. Ugh. But I hope to get over it soon - It's only been 56 years.

Thinking of flying in with the wife for Game 1.....staying at Elliot Park Hotel Autograph? Or Rand Tower Hotel? Both an easy walk to US Bank. Any locals that can tell me which might be a better stay?

I stayed at the Marquette last year for the Bengals game. Probably one of the nicer spots. We walked from there. .6 of a mile.

We'll probably try to make Dolphins or Colts. After years of staying at the Normandy, finally changed it up last year and stayed at the Downtown Hilton. Price isn't bad and it's a 15 minute walk to the Bank.

I wanted the Dolphins game, but we've got a wedding in Boston to attend. 😑 When we come in for a game to Minneapolis, we don't care so much about the hotel as more its location as we're kind of foodies and want to walk to good restaurants AND be able to walk to and from the stadium. We then hit whatever sportsbar is around on the walk back after the game to catch the afternoon action.....

Have to hook up with PF as I blew him off last time I was in town because we pregamed with a bunch of other fans at this cool breakfast place and before I knew it it was like 20 minutes to game time! 😐

The oldest is moving to Minneapolis in July, and they are expecting in December, so maybe I’ll make two games this year. Current contract ends in November so we’ll be free to drive up. Unless gas is $7 a gallon by then.

I took my son, who was then in college at Florida, to the last Miami Dolphins game in Minnesota - (2018?). We beat them pretty badly. There was a little kid from Montana in our section. He was a Dolphins fan and the game was his birthday and Christmas present. He was looking pretty sad. We were right behind the Dolphins bench and managed to get one of the Dolphin players' attention and told him they had a young, sad fan who came all the way from Montana to watch his favorite team. The player, I think it was a WR but can't remember who, took off his gloves and something else (wrist band maybe) and handed them to us to give to the young Dolphin fan. That made his day. He was all smiles and laughs after that - to hell with the final score. As far as I was concerned, we all went home happy.

I'm a city kid. I'll pay more for a dive within walking distance than I'll pay for luxury outside downtown. Fortunately the MPLS downtown isn't very big so most downtown hotels are within walking distance to the stadium and all the best bars and restaurants. Discovered Hell's Kitchen last year. I don't even know who Gordon Ramsey is, but the food was terrific.

Like I said to Sticky, am going to try and get back to games this season with my season tix buds. If you make it up here? Shoot me a pm and I'll try and see you while you're here.

9 of the last 12 Vikings TNF games have been on the road. Late season road Thursday games are a bad break, especially against a decent opponent in what might be shit weather.

Did you know?

The Minnesota Vikings typically have a high volume of national games, generally ranging from 3 to 5 prime-time or standalone games per season, representing roughly 17% to 28% of their 17-game schedule.

NFL Average: A standard NFL team gets 2–3 primetime slots, while marquee teams receive 5–6.

The Vikings often play in close, high-stakes games—40 of their 51 games from 2022-2024 were within one score—making them attractive for national broadcasts.

All Time Prime Time Winning %

  • Detroit: 38% (85% since 2020)

  • GB: 58% (43% since 2020)

  • MN: 50% (59% since 2020)

  • Chi: 45% (50% since 2020)
