Vikings prefer to keep Greenard, who wants new deal. A trade 'really not something (Minnesota's) trying to do,' per source.
But trade interest is there, and draft is natural spot for teams to take another crack.
Vikings interim GM Rob Brzezinski was pretty forceful about the future of Jonathan Greenard, reiterating that he expects Greenard to remain with the Vikings. But no one has denied that talks are ongoing to that end. Full quote:

Rumors concerning Greenard being traded during the draft is really starting to heat up again. I'd take a high 2nd and a 4th round for him...

Might he drop out of the first round? Tom Pelissero is reporting that a few teams have removed him from their board. Reminds me of Benjamin Morrison, a CB from Notre Dame in last year's draft who was considered a first round talent & was picked #53 due to an ACL injury that he suffered during the season.
Mocked this guy a dozen times. Might go before McCoy if the knee issues are true.

National pundits are saying Rodriguez and Cooper Jr are the fastest risers...They are saying both could go in first rd.
It's also 2 days b4 the draft too.

And if you saw the CBS 7-round mock draft posted yesterday, there were at least five teams that had Rodirguez selected in the 2nd round, a few in front of us in the second round. At this point, I'm not expecting him to be on the Vikings' roster come this fall, sadly. If he does fall in the Vikings laps in the second round, I sure hope they don't hesitate to get that card in for him. I also saw several picking Hill Jr. in the third round.

Vikings brought in both Hill Jr and Golday for top 30s. Both are 2nd round(ish) players. I think the Vikings could very easily use their 2nd rounder on a LB. Rodriguez is my favorite, but I wouldn't be throwing a fit about the other two. Cashman is injury prone and in a contract year. Wilson will be 32 in September.

The Vikings more than likely don't want to lock themselves into a long-term guaranteed new contract with Greenard and the Eagles will sweat out the Vikings to reduce the comp. #54 in round 2 is probably what Philly will agree to, certainly not their first round pick. I bet they are offering #68 and will 'settle' for #54.
