Basically, the Cowboys are pretty much out of contention, so they are allowed to suspend him now...

So here is what I'm trying to wrap my head around.  If I get suspended from my job, it's a done deal.  I'm sure that is pretty much the case here for everyone, or just about anyone for that matter.  Why is any of this a court matter?

There is a lot more money to waste, how far could you pursue this at this pace.  Yeah your right though

pretty much.  But hey, anytime the cowboys lose is a good thing, except last week.

Ezekiel Elliott - RB - Cowboys

Profootballtalk reports Ezekiel Elliott isn't yet suspended.

This conflicts with a statement from the NFL this week. The District Court doesn't plan to lift Elliott's injunction until the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals rules on his rehearing. With Dallas on their bye, there should be more clarity on Elliott's standing before Week 7.
