Stop Me If You've Heard This Before, Diggs Hurt
Stefon Diggs - WR - Vikings
Stefon Diggs exited Monday night's Week 5 game against the Bears with a groin injury.Diggs caught 1-of-4 targets for four yards before leaving, and he's being labeled questionable to return. Michael Floyd and Laquon Treadwell will pick up the leftover snaps, while Adam Thielen is the clear-cut No. 1.
This is getting to be tiresome...

i assume he is talking about the one he had last year vs the one he got 3 days ago.
I like our depth at WR more than RB. Losing Cook left a big drop off in talent at the RB position. Missing Diggs doesn't necessarily mean the team doesn't have any other decent options. Arguably, Thielen is #1, and filling in for Diggs with a rotation of Floyd, Treadwell, and Wright should be ok.
Lets hope Diggsy shakes this off and gets back to his 'A' game soon.

I wasn't questioning Diggs, but the quote is off.

yeah i got that part, where did he injure his groin last year? was it in chicago as well by chance?
Look as long as we as fans are going to continually insist that these guys get bigger, and stronger, and faster and the game continue to be more and more violent and want to see the big hits you are going to see players get hurt frequently. You can hardly ask these guys to have the bodies that they have and ONLY go to the gym. On top of that ask them to put those bodies through the rigors of the game today and the human body just isn't made to withstand that type of force and punishment.

That isn't it. Guys get hurt, we understand that. But when it happens every year after a few games and he is rendered ineffective trying to play through it, it is worth noting. Issac Bruce was always in the trainers room with hamstrings until he started taking his stretching routine seriously. Not saying that is what is happening here, but nobody is saying they only go to the gym. Just that, damn wish this guy could stay healthy for our team.
I am talking more of the problems that we are seeing league wide. Some people want to blame turf for the uptick in injuries. Some people want to blame lack of physical practices or short training camps. The facts are that the physics behind the game are creating situations that the human body isn't built for. Now whether or not this is Diggs issue I have no idea, I am more commenting on the concept that what we are asking people to do with their bodies is beyond normal.

Absolutely...But nobody is putting a gun to these guys heads and they are paid millions. I think you've gotten sensitized to the humaness of what these guys go through seeing em up close after games etc.
Thats not a criticism btw.
We talk out both sides of our mouths. "Oh he needs to play when he is hurt." vs "OMG WHY DID THEY START SAM WHEN HE IS HURT!?" I get it, players getting injured sucks. I also see the trend with Diggs, but that is why he fell to the 5th round. Teams, especially ours, need to be able to overcome a player coming down. Timing sucks, but next man up.

The complete Vikings Diggs report...
I find it funny that some fans called Sam a baby for missing games and not trying, then when he tries to play he is totally ineffective and is injury prone but when Diggs is in the same boat, the same people stick up for him and applaud his efforts

Not sure I saw anybody legitly calling him out, maybe just some bull shit story, but that's just the minny sports media...they don't count as fans....or in many cases as journalists.

Lots of injuries around the league. Same thing every year. Bigger, stronger men moving faster than they ever have in NFL history. Ligaments can't handle the extra stress and torque the game provides.
Going to have to look-up when Diggs' contract is up...Not an slam-dunk re-sign, least not at huge guaranteed $$$
@"purplefaithful" said: Going to have to look-up when Diggs' contract is up...Not an slam-dunk re-sign, least not at huge guaranteed $$$Under contract through 2018. Spielman likes to get core players signed in the summer before their last year, so they never sniff free agency, so they may be talking next summer. Hunter, Kendricks, and Barr are at the same stage. Also need to decide whether to give Wayne's the 5th-year option next spring...oh, and figure out the QB thing, too...
Back to Diggs, let's see what Floyd does with this opportunity, too.
