Pause, for a moment, if you’re inclined to think Michael Floyd will fail with the Vikings in what might be his last shot to reboot his NFL career, and consider the people who seem determined not to let him.
His mother will be in the Soldier Field stands on Monday night with her brother and nieces, praying for Floyd and corresponding with the 10 or so women in St. Paul she has praying for him every day.
“I don’t think he realizes,” Theresa Romero said. “Nobody actually realizes how many people are actually praying for you. He won’t know that until down a long ways.”

Those of us who've been around have read a million of these pieces over the years....

In the case of Carter? It worked out great. But unfortunately for every Carter, there's 6 Koren Robinsons.

Hoping the best for Floyd and the Vikings...

ever case is different.   he has a tall hill to climb,  but as long as he takes it one day at a time and surrounds himself with people that are more concerned about him than they are what he can do for them... he will be fine.

so is he for sure playing tonight then?  who is getting cut?  have we heard yet?

During free agency, we were reportedly interested in Alshon Jeffery and/or Terrelle Pryor. Neither of those are tearing up the league:
Jeffery:  20-246-2 (5 games)    $8.75M guaranteed
Pryor:    13-186-1 (4 games)    $6M guaranteed
Floyd:                                        $1.4M (non-guaranteed salary)

I doubt either of those would be getting much more behind Diggs and Thielen than they are in Philadelphia and Washington. The article has some degree of PR fluff, no doubt - but it is possible that playing here really gives his family more chance to keep him on the straight and narrow. Regardless, he was very low cost/low risk, especially  when you compare to Jeffery or Pryor.
