Male Cheerleaders?
Anybody else catch this? The Vikings now have male cheerleaders that will be flip flopping around with the female cheerleaders this year. I'm already getting my balls busted over it at work. "Vi-queens" living up their names and all kinds of things. I'm sure I'm not the only one..
I know the Wilfs are the most progressive of progressive owners and use the teams platform to support any and every one of their social causes, but dudes....do you not have a read on who your audience is and who makes up a majority of your fanbase? This is akin to the Bud Light debacle, in that a majority of the fanbase (safe assumption) does not want to see male cheerleaders flopping around and twerking with their pompoms during the games. I've heard some rumor that their are season ticket holders threatening to cancel their tickets over this. Anybody else heard anything similar? It sure would be nice if the league and owners would just focus on football and stop trying to cram social narratives that most don't agree with down the throats of their fanbases. Just a thought
Right? I’m canceling my trip to Minneapolis this fall and selling my tickets. I don’t care that the Vikings have had male cheerleaders in the past. I don’t care that several other NFL teams have male cheerleaders. I don’t even care that most major college programs have male cheerleaders. This is the god damn Minnesota Vikings and I share your concern. I mean, what if we find them attractive? What if they make us gay?

Not sure if you've seen, but these aren't your standard male cheerleaders hoisting and tossing the females into the air. These are short shorts wearing, booty shaking, pompom waving type. Have we had those before?

I think there's a way to include male cheerleaders that I would consider tasteful and that wont send woke meters off the charts...
Whether the Vikings decide to be a bit more conservative with it (or not) remains to be seen. It's hard not to offend anyone, but its not impossible.
Hell, Bama does it well imo:

See the above post by deepfreeze to see the direction the Wilfs decided to take it. Whats next? I suppose the drag queens will be greasing the goal posts at US Bank before we know it.

I don't wanna see male cheerleaders on the Vikings field unless they're really, really hot dudes.
Well crap, I’m out.
This whole “controversy” is one of the most first world problems I think I’ve ever seen. Who gives a Fk other than people watching Fox News that are being told to be outraged.
This is wrong on multiple levels.

I could care less. I don't watch the Vikings because cheerleaders, on TV or live.
I agree, the game is my primary focus. I didn't know the Vikings still had cheerleaders! LOL! I have never noticed them on television or at live games.
I will admit to enjoying watching Olympic gymnastics, tremendous athletes that work hard to develop their craft. Someone posted a video of a Bama cheerleader doing a series of handstands across the endzone. Wow, a tremendous show of athleticism! I would have cheered seeing that!

Why even do it in the first place? Of course it's controversial, so why do it unless you are using your football organization to promote a woke agenda, which is clearly the case here by the Wilfs. As a fan, I don't want my football organization trying to make political statements...period, much less ones that are controversial in nature. How about we just focus on football and stop using the organizations platform to promote every woke cause while alienating a majority of your fanbase that disagrees with it? Wilfs gonna Wilf...
Who gives a shit? I saw where there was "reports" of people getting rid of their tickets and trying to make it political (MAGA bad). The articles that I saw were the ridiculous AI created articles full of bullshit. I am as red MAGA as there is and I could care less. I will probably be getting a drink or taking a leak when they are on TV anyways...Just freaking win Vikings!
Ever think it may have something to do with discrimination in work place hiring in the liberal state of Minnesota.
Personally I could care less about it.
Bring back the Parkettes....for the pedophile in everybody. Gawd...that was embarassing...

Wow, that's way back to the first 20 years of Viking football! Good catch Badger! Gotta cheer for winners, our Parkettes won the first battle of the NFL cheerleaders in 1979! Rock on girls, err women! :)

Also from 1979..the first male cheerleader...
Yep...Robin Williams...
Robin Williams joined the cheerleading squad for a live game at Mile High Stadium in front of over 70,000 fans on November 11, 1979. The Denver Broncos defeated the New England Patriots 45-10.
Robin dressed as Mork from Ork from the popular TV show "Mork and Mindy," which was filmed and based in Boulder, Colorado. He was dressed as a cheerleader, complete with white knee-high cowboy boots, a sequined mini skirt and top, an orange scarf, and gloves. Robin Williams holds the distinction of being the NFL's first male cheerleader.
