I wish the football league just went by what the judicial system went by instead of going above and beyond to try and heap extra punishment so that they appeared like they gave a shit about moral issues.... Which they don't.
Floyd was passed out drunk at what... A 0.2+??? That alone is pretty egregious... then add in the couple failed tests and it's not surprising.
I wonder if the Vikings will cut him? We have him super cheap and he likely won't hit any major incentives if he misses the first 8 games... hopefully Treadwell and one of Mobo or Adams steps up in Training Camp.

Floyd will just appeal it through the players' union and get it reduced. Probably down to 4 games like everyone figured.
They're probably basing this on TJ McDonald's suspension. McDonald, a similar case, was suspended 8 games pending appeal, which was unusually severe for alcohol-related offenses in the NFL.
I agree with AZ; whatever the suspension is, it will likely be reduced on appeal.

NFLDG posted that, Floyd's agents were expecting 4 games, I believe at some point in this here forumn.

Mike, I couldn't agree more. The NFL's righteous indignation over every infraction is getting tiresome. If they want to fine a player, fine, but this constant suspension crap is overkill.
