2025 NFL Free Agency and Draft: DT
Like corner, this draft class appears to have good value in the late 1st for DTs. And the thing I've noticed that is unusual about this class is how many BIG guys there are this year, with 5 of the top 8 on one board all weighing in over 320 lbs. That is rare.
Could see 4-6 DT's solidifying first round grades or elevating into first round next week at @seniorbowl.#TheDraftStartsInMOBILE™️ https://t.co/Lp12Z16QiM

You don't like Grant in that role? I think he's more than just a nose and is athletic enough to play up and down the line, especially in a 3-4
I think he's far too big and offers too little in the way of a pass rush to ever play 5T. I've always felt Grant was more of a two-down nose in the mold of Jordan Davis or Mazi Smith, both of whom have been mild busts. Can he be a 3-down fatty like Vita Vea or Dexter Lawrence? Maybe, but it seems unlikely.
I will say, though, that the odds of the Vikings taking a nose-only went up after free agency. Before free agency, I would've hated a Grant pick. Now, I can at least see it.

You might be right but I think he's a better player than Jordan Davis or Smith. I'd be pretty happy landing any of those three tackles (Grant, Nolen, Harmon) who might be in play at our pick
Simeon Barrow Jr.’s 32 reps on the bench press this afternoon would have tied for FIRST among all defensive linemen in this upcoming draft.

Yet, for some odd and inexplicable reason, he wasn’t even invited to the 2025 NFL Combine. 🤷🏼♂️pic.twitter.com/2djSzYN9On

Boston College DT Cam Horsley (6027, 312) helped himself at yesterday's pro day. One of my favorite day 3 DL prospects this year.

Ohio State DT Tyleik Williams is probably Top 100 or so pick, was an ultra-productive college player. Doesn't look great. Hope he's alright. https://t.co/cyDgufv4Wq

He’s moving. But, he won’t see 40 if he doesn’t shed 150 lbs.

DAWG: Florida defensive tackle Desmond Watson recorded 36 bench press reps at his Pro Day, which would have been the most at the #NFL Combine by 3 reps.

Watson is 6-foot-6 and weighs 464 POUNDS.
He will be the heaviest player in NFL history.

The Anti Tush Push
I can’t imagine him being drafted. Saw him a few times. You’d have to stash him on the PS and get him to drop 75-100 lbs. I’m not sure your medical staff would sign off on him.

I agree. In 50 years of draft obsession, I'd confidently argue that late-round flyers on the "too small" guys work out over late-round flyers on the "too big" guys by a 2 to 1 margin. I mean Watson isn't just overweight, he's obese.
The #Vikings met “at length” with Texas A&M DL Shemar Turner yesterday before his Pro Day, per @TonyPauline. Minnesota had some defensive staff on hand at their Pro Day.pic.twitter.com/aN2lZzMqau

If we have a size target, he pretty much is in range.

The Ole Miss defensive line just wrapped up their positional drills. The best collective group that I’ve seen on the pro day circuit. JJ Pegues and Walter Nolen were outstanding. Jared Ivey, an underrated and scheme versatile player.

Sounds like Ole Miss and Texas A&M were the places to be if you were a defensive lineman last year in college football looking to get paid.
Would be very curious to see how the Vikings would rank the 3 big DT's projected to go right around out pick at #24. I'd be damn happy with any one of them
Really good group overall. Nolen (first) and Pegues (last). https://t.co/2fX3ocoANW pic.twitter.com/35fxRYes6O

Just my opinion but I think Nolen probably has the most upside out of the big 3 and the most unrefined, but you get him with our coaches and the veterans along our defensive line who show him how to be a Pro and the sky is the limit. I love Grant's athleticism and ability to shed, but he might end up being more of a specialist which I'm fine with. Harmon is damn good now but Nolen probably is the better long term guy if he figures it out. I like the chances of that on the Vikings

6-foot-4, 305.
Long frame. Athletic mover. Disruptive traits. Pass rush plan. Alignment versatility in NFL fronts.
